Target is selling body composition scales very at very reasonable prices. My Tanita scale cost 3 times as much years ago but I can't see replacing it while it still works.

The body composition scales measure muscle, fat, hydration.

The more information the better.

I wonder how accurate they are .. but as long as they are consistent, you can track your Body Fat progress .. I think they are great. I use one at my gym which costs thousands .. an InBody 570 .. but who knows if it is any more accurate then the more affordable ones you can get for home.

I read up a lot on the accuracy of these scales and most of the data gives them pretty positive ratings. The one I have is wireless and was rated with #2 or #4 in the top 10 body composition scales and it cost $28 on Amazon. I love it....I hope this info helps.

BODY FAT SCALES Body fat scales use a technology called bioelectrical impedance analysis to measure body fat. A small, unnoticeable electrical current is sent from one foot, up one leg and down the other leg. Fat is a poor conductor of electricity compared to other components of the body such as muscle. The more resistance the electrical current experiences, the higher the fat.BODY FAT SCALES
