wholefoodnut's Journal, 10 November 2017

I was thinking on my way home today how much exercise improves my mood and outlook on everything. A couple weeks ago every little thing was bothering me, I was in this crummy mood that I kept fighting and feeling exhausted all day. I don't like myself very well when I'm in that frame of mind.

After getting back to exercise over the past 2 weeks I feel like a different person. Yes, I'm tired tonight, it has been a busy week, and my body is a little achy here and there. I'm back to feeling happy, less stressed, sleeping better, and simply a more positive outlook.

I went ice skating after work today (first time in a year) and it was a wonderful start to a weekend. I only made it 20 minutes; I could have pushed it further but didn't. The temps were dropping and the leftover bronchitis cough was flaring. After work past years I only skate at the most for 45 minutes in order to leave the city by 5. It's a nice stress reliever during a busy time of the year and for seniors the rink is free. Hoping to get there at least twice a week weather and work hours permitting.

Glad the exercise is helping you feel better. I expect the lingering cough was bringing you down too. Thank goodness it's on it's way out.

Movement is good for the body. Movement (exercise) helps with stress reduction. Can be as simple as walking or whatever you choose. Nix the grains & sugar if you want to see your mood improve and reduce inflammation.

I tried to learn to ice skate. Never could learn ice skating or roller skating. I love to watch though.

I love ice skating. But they just plowed our rink down to build condos ☹️ and the closest one is an hour away. My daughter was getting really good at it too. And after her private lessons I would get out on the ice. It was a great feeling!

Hi, haven't been here much this week--migraine and commitments meant little computer time. I have 2 indoor ice rinks available year round but have not used them much except in the winter. Most of the public time is either weekday afternoons or weekends. of course I'm @ work during the week. Maybe next year skating all year will be an option, life has been crazy busy this year.
