jsfantome's Journal, 19 April 2012

Yesterday was my youngest son's 18th birthday! WOW! It kinda does make ya feel old! Seems just a short time ago, they were all living at home and the two older ones were teenagers... starting to feel that 'empty nest' thing creeping up in my head.

We celebrated out at dinner, and I could just sit there and think... next year - he'll be at school (college)... and I wonder if I'll spend 'Birthdays" w/ my son in the future??? It made me feel sad.

Mom is doing well. Life is going along at a rapid fire pace... but all is good right now.

Thanks for the love and support.

Yesterday was my youngest's 16th birthday! I totally understand how you feel. It was hard enough with the older ones, but somehow it's a little different when it's the baby. Thinking of you!

I have a few years to go before my baby is 18 but it is different with the youngest. From his birth on, things have been harder for me than with the other two. Glad that your mom is doing well.

I hear you Paula. When my daughter went to university, hubby and I cried the night we left here there for the first time, we thought our hearts would never mend but they did and we did celebrate some birthdays with her, some not, that's part of life isn't it? Glad your mum is doing well, you have a lot going on right now, with a wedding in the immediate future too. Busy lady!

Don't worry Paula - I think it will be a long time until your next is empty!

Just don't waste it. You just never know when something might happen to steal your future--and I'm not talking about yourself, but the ones you love. Every moment with them is precious.

You guys are awesome.. and it's so true.. LIFE is today, here and now. And while I have had to focus, and dedicate a lot of my time to learning about nutrition and how to be healthy...I have learned well. I am so much healthier, and happier, feeling good, and grateful to have the energy to just keep up w/ my 18 year old!!! He's such a fun young man... and like most boy teenagers, he wants to show me he loves me...but he sometimes lets his testosterone get in the mix! He is highly competitive, so it becomes about wanting to challenge me, race me, beat me... ;) But for 48, I can hold my own!!! Still have a few surprises up my sleeve - and he is always so shocked! But in a good way!
