Nope .. you are not alone. I am eating lean protein, complex carbs (mainly green vegetables), and very little added fat. I've eliminated/drastically reduced starch and complex carbs (no bread, potatoes, pasta, sugar), and use very little added fat (no fried foods). My typical day is <50% carbs, >40% protein, <15% fat. I read the Keto posts with interest, but am happy and successful with this way of eating. Generally I regard more protein and fewer carbs as good things (similar to Keto), and also green leafy vegetables and reduced fat as good things (unlike Keto).

"I am eating lean protein, complex carbs (mainly green vegetables), and very little added fat." In my mind - excellent eating style! Especially for a long-term weight loss maintenance. It seems really simple on paper. :)

No trendy diet for me, but lean towards Paleo. Carbs come from fruit and veggies - balance the carbs/fats/proteins in the 30-45% range and don’t fuss over it. Daily calories 950-1100 and losing at comfortable 3-5 lbs per week. Cheat once a week (football time) with more than usual good foods, few beers and/or scotch. No store bought processed foods. Happy with progress and sense of well being.

Rh, as I transition to KETO, I still support any WOE that is working for that individual especially if they are happy with their efforts/results. Congrats to you!

I'm eating carbs too! I get hungry in 2-3 hours if I don't eat any carbs for breakfast so I allow myself some form of whole wheat bread in the morning. My diet consists of getting used to eating smaller portions and having super early dinner. Usually I don't eat after 5-6 pm.

I eat 125 carbs a day. That's what my doc suggested.

ATorBust, I eat carbs in the form of vegetables with the aim of reducing my intake of starchy and overprocessed carbs.

i feel the same way! i was so worried, hahaa. I go lower-carb ish, but that's mostly because i replace starchy meal options with veggies, so my carbs kinda just went down on their own. i had a real hard time getting my "5 a day" so i shoot to get 8 servings of fruits and veg, and that made the carbs reduce and the fiber go up up up!

I do a 40/40/20 diet. I'm just not interested in keto.

I am also not a Keto person. From the practical point of view, I cannot be so strict my entire life and so, the diet will not work for me in the long term. Instead, I prefer a low to moderate fat intake, a Mediterranean diet with 10 portions of vegetables and fruits per day together with goat cheese, yogurt, lean meat and fish, no processed food, no fast food, no sugar drinks. As I am at my goal weight since June, some desert and French croissants every other day.

Not a me to person either. I've been recently diagnosed as a Type 2 Diabetic and use this site to keep track of my carb intake. It's been a great help and inspiration. I've also been losing a little weight. Everyone on the site is very supportive no matter what your food choices are.

I eat carbs on a regular basis, normally from fruit & veggies, but I will have a carb heavy item once a day. (Bread, pasta or potatoes) Plenty of us are on a nutrition balance / calorie tracking WOE. I firmly believe in doing what works for you. If that's Keto, great. Same goes for Calorie Counting, Weight-watchers or South Beach ect. Live long and may the Force be ever in your favor, so say we all.

I eat HCLF, not for health or weight loss, just because I love carbs lol. You're not alone!

I'm on very low carbs (under 20 net),very low calorie (500-800) and take Hcg1234 drops. I can only do the VLC because of the Hcg drops which help burn my abnormal fat for fuel. I feel great and have been losing even though I add fat which is not allowed on Hch1234 protocol. I found an Hcg fitness couch on utube who has researched and found the lowered intake is crucial because of the insulin reaction. I had been trying and was up and down each week when I weigh in at TOPS meeting. Now I was the biggest loser last week. Some members of TOPS may not think I'm Taking Of Pounds Sensibly but to me the most sensible thing at my age 70 is to get it off as quickly and safely as possible. I went through Lindora Clinic treatment and go in for maintenance. I had blood draws last week and have doctor appointment tomorrow.

Haha it just looks that way. LCers are in the minority, just VERY visible because of more intense use of the tools like food logging. The effort required to make keto/LC meals makes the self-affirmation of posting pictures important, and then there's encouraging feedback from other LCers, and questions about how to replicate that meal. So there ends up being a lot of activity from a small number of members.

I have nothing against low-carbers. I was just looking for like-minded people. Glad I'm not alone! :)
