Beautiful Sunday morning. Up and out the door for a 6:00 AM run - sun shining and about 60 degrees. Ran only 5.0 miles, but stepped it up for a couple of them. Only wanted to quit about 3 times. :) I guess I'm still struggling to get back to that point where I can just go out and run for 5 to 10 miles without feeling like it's an endurance test. I'm trusting that it's just a matter of buildiing back up a good base. That's why I've backed off on the mileage - to see if gradually working up to the longer mileage will make for smoother runs in the future. I'm looking forward to some longer runs, including trail runs after work, when the joints are already warmed up, and we've got daylight until 9:00 in the evening.
Well, tomorrow is our anniversary and my wife's birthday. We're going to the big city for a day of shopping (ughh!) and food (Yay!). I'm not even going to try to count calories tomorrow. I know that's sacrilegious, but I'll just get back on track after that. I'll try to get in an elliptical in the morning before she gets up; after that, it's just wherever she leads, and how long my back and legs can hold up. :) Talk to you later.

LOL..... Isn't it funny when the word 'shopping' is mentioned - men associate it with back ache. Unless it is for mechanical or 'fun' gadgets of course! You so inspire me DK, to persevere with the running. I too want to enjoy it - getting there (well for the first 10 minutes LOL). There are so many people on this site, who love it. I want to, to. My objective is to 'love' it, so when I am on holiday in July, I will really enjoy jogging by the beach. Happy anniversary and a happy birthday to your wife.... Certainly NOT a date you should EVER forget. You would be in MAJOR *$€¥*+€€*$. LOL

Not to worry Pam! Nobody is going to let me forget that date. I'm glad that you are getting the running fever. Just remember to take it slow; the slower you work up to it, the more enjoyable it will be - advice I myself need to keep in mind.
