Alarm sounds at 3:30 AM; hit the snooze. Debate within myself about the merits of getting up now and getting er done, versus the consequences of getting up after 4:00 and not working out at all, or being late for work if I do. The merits usually win me over. Into the bathroom to weigh myself. Into my techie shorts, shirt and shoes, strap on the HR monitor and GPS and head out the door. Did HR intervals for 3.8 miles this morning - give it most of what I got to a HR of 160, then back off until I'm at 120, then repeat for 3.8 miles. Breaks up the monotony, builds endurance and speed - makes me tired and I want to go back to bed. Put the coffee on, give phenobarb to one of the cats, give all 6 cats their snacks, eat some breakfast, and head down to feed and play with the two labs. Back up to put my running clothes in the washer, make my lunch for work, jump into the rain locker, pull the clothes out of the washer and hang on the drying rack, get dressed, walk the weiner dog, and head out the door. Time: typically 2.5 hours. Now I'm awake, and ready for the 45 minute commute to work. Could life get any better than this?

Yep; I have a 10,000 square foot schoolhouse. The cats have their own kitty litter room. Fortunately, I don't have to empty that in the mornings - they only have evening maid service.

Well, I also have the gymnasium (6,000 sq. ft) that is separate from the school. No, it will be a work-in-progress till my dying day. I call it "industrial rustic". I have studied all the construction trades all my life, and have always wanted to restore something like this. The roofs were in terrible shape and leaking in both structures. The school is 102 years old. I have had to put new roofs on, build a kitchen, etc. Classrooms were nothing but empty space with 3 outlets in every room. I am loving it. Gives me something to do. :D

The gym was like a tropical rainforest - filled with bat dung and mold. Now you could almost live in it. All dried out. And after about 6 dumpster loads full of the old collapsed roof, it is almost liveable.
