I am trying to eat oatmeal for breakfast this morning but I think it might be stale....The date isn't expired but it just doesn't taste fresh.

Does anyone have an issue with their spouse or SO listening to what you are actually saying? I find it so frustrating to tell someone something that is important enough to have a life impact, while knowing full well they are disregarding everything I say.

Hoping my food this weekend tastes better then this darn oatmeal.

Cheers.

better than the same old lecture with your oatmeal! try sprucing it up with some fresh berries etc. Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

I add a little vanilla and cinnamon to my oatmeal, helps the taste. Yes there are many times my spouse does not listen to me. So I started telling him I have something important to say please let me know when you are ready to listen. That works in my marriage and has saved quite a few arguments/hurt feelings.

Listening is an art most of us lack. :( > Skwhite: excellent! :)

My hubby rarely listens - if I've anything important to say - I start talking about his lunch and then slip it into the middle.

OMG - yes, my husband listens to very little. I also do what Skwhite does: I flag him down and ask when he is ready to listen.
