DairyKing's Journal, 19 January 2017

Good Morning, FS Friends! Well, the hard part is over - getting started. It's been about a week since I committed to beginning this journey again. I know that I know that I know that I have never been able to restrict my intake without incorporating some kind of exercise program. Once I started getting on the treadmill again, and working out on the Total Gym clone, I am more conscious about what I am about to put in my mouth. I find myself asking the question, “Is this worth sabotaging the effort that you are putting in early every morning?” So far, it seems to be working. My current weight allows me to eat over 2000 calories a day and still lose weight, but experience tells me that I have to develop good habits now, or I will fail after some of the weight comes off, and my RDI is reduced. Experience is a good teacher, but it can also be an obstacle. The journey is not always easy, and experience kept me from making the commitment for a long time.

This afternoon, I have my interview before the District Ministry Board for my Ministers License. I am already a Pastor and doing pretty good, but there is still that little bit of apprehension and anxiety. I know that the same God that called me to this ministry is going to complete the work that He began in me; I just have to make sure that my emotions don't drive me to some kind of feeding frenzy.

Have you ever noticed that looking in the mirror can sabotage your motivation. I swear that my profile looks worse a week after losing a few pounds than it did before. I always have to remind myself that things always look worse before they look better. It could be that your face is the first thing to lose the fat, and everything else then looks out of proportion. I have heard women say that they first lose weight in their boobs and get frustrated. I think there is probably something to that. Just don't look in the mirror sideways for a while.

Anyway, thanks for listening. Toodles!
