DairyKing's Journal, 12 December 2011

Well, yesterday I upped the pace a little and ran a couple miles. Felt pretty good. Walked this morning at a lively pace for 30 minutes, and I I am back on my training plan. My reward (every year) is a custard pie made by one of the ladies in the American Legion Auxilliary. Usually it's two pies. I asked her to only make me one this year. And yes, I did eat a slice yesterday - 1/8 of a 9" pie. It was scrumptuous and I still did not go over my RDI for the day. :D
Although I am only recording my weight once a week now, it is very difficult to break the habit of weighing-in every morning. I don't know if I will ever be able to break that habit completely. Just think how much damage a whole week worth of overindulgence could do! I will still do periodic checks to keep myself in line, but I only open one eye at a time until I see that the scales read in my favor. If they don't, I jump off real quick and wait until the next day.

I always wanted to be a procrastinator, never got around to it.

I weigh myself every day still ... but only record "losses" on fatsecret. We each find a way that works for us!! Sounds like you are doing well!!

Good for you man. I integrate a lot o running with walking. I basically run when I feel like it, so I dont end up hating it. Some days I run a little, walk a little etc. As long as we are aout there moving, we are on the good side of the equation! I do try to at least walk 30 plus every day...which is easy because I LOVE IT. Keep up the good work !

Yeah for the run / walk :-). I only record weekly, but stand on my body analyser scale daily and record it in a folder. I do it for the "other" measurements - BF%, water, muscle, bone, visceral fat - I just stand on the scale, write the measurements down, put it in a drawer and forget about it until I get it out again the next day. Periodically I look at the "trends" - to see how different measurements influence each other eg if water is down - BF is usually down. I don't stress about the "weight" thing - although I know roughly how I am doing. I think it is good to be able to record weight weekly, as you can see your progress - I guess monthly would be even more significant. I may swop to that eventually - although fortnightly seems a better option first.

Oh DK you sound just like me on the scales. It is a love/hate relationship. When the scales finally moved last week I decided NOT to throw them out the door and kick them about the yard. Great going on your walk/run routine! (I LOVE custard anything but pies are my weakness)
