Things are slowly, but surely coming off me again after Saturdays insane Indulgence Day. It'll be a LONG time before I go nuts like that again.

I am only 100 grams down since yesterday, but I think I will kinda just disregard this weigh-in, as I ate a very heavy dinner yesterday. I was within my allowed calories, but the WEIGHT of the food was a lot.

I made my home made chilli - with ground chicken - and everyone always go nuts when we serve that. Including me. Something are not meant to be eaten in small portions! LOL!

However, today's weigh-in DID much against my expectations show a tiny loss - and a HUGE loss in fat percentage. As always, this is a sign that I am losing fat, even when my weight isn't coming down. Today it was at a new crazy low of 6.3%.

This brings me to a few thoughts I have done about the fat percentage thing. There is no way that my body fat is 6.3%. As much as I am not counting on BMI in any way (other than to reach 25 for my surgery), I am still overweight according to BMI and this simply doesn't happen at a fat percentage of 6.3. Try googling "10% body fat" (wait, I'll do it for you HERE) and see the beef cakes that can claim that. I'm NOTHING like that. I won't say I'm skinny fat either, it's just not the same. That's okay though, I never expected it to be.

However, as I said there is no way I am at 6.3%. I think a more reasonable way to think of it is that I probably today have 6.3% fat in ALL OF MY WEIGHT. So this means my body, my retained water, my food passing through my system, my boogers (yes those too!). Maybe 6.3% of all that is pure fat. This would make sense to me, and also for that matter explain why the fat percentage goes down when I'm retaining water, when I'm constipated, when I ate heavy, but low calorie, foods.

I might of course be all wrong on this, but to me it makes sense. I think I will simply think of it as that, and I will think of it merely as a guide line to measure if I am actually losing fat when I am not losing actual weight.

Yesterday was a busy day, and a very active one. I started on the NEXT level of my exercise. It was good, but also a little intimidating. It was hard work, but it felt good.

Later, at work, I decided to simply stand all day. I never lowered my desk, and I could really tell on my body that it loved me for it. Sadly, at some point I hurt my back picking something up from the floor. It gave a pop, and it started hurting a little. I'm thinking that maybe one of the new exercises were a little hard on me. The pain is gone now, though. It wasn't anything major.

I was really bummed out, because I wanted to go to the gym to go some focused walking. Burn some extra calories, and watch a tv-show on my phone. It's a great way to pass the time AND exercise. I was afraid that I was not gonna be able to.

Fortunately, one of my partners at work came by my office to talk about a few cases. She is a physiotherapist, and I took the opportunity to ask her what she thought I should do. She basically told me that the pop I heard is nothing more than when you pop your knuckles, but that it sounds harsher because it's bigger bones. It's basically just letting out a little air that create a little pressure. She told me it was nothing to worry about, but of course to be aware of future pains. She told me I could easily walk without damaging myself, but to maybe hold back on the running because of the bouncing. I did, and I did pretty good anyways. 500 calories burnt on that!

This morning was a weird one. Wife is still sick, but I had clear intentions of still getting up at 4:30 to do my daily rituals. Normally it goes like this:

Wake up, get up, restroom, shower, weigh-in, cook eggs while getting dressed. Drink water, finish cooking, exercise, journal and eat, play music, go to work.

This morning, I guess I was so keen on NOT sleeping late, that I couldn't sleep. I kept waking up, and never fell asleep again after 2:18 am. That's okay, I am used to sleeping less now. I think it's a side effect of losing weight. I have all this energy that sometimes is hard to get rid of.

So this morning, as I realized that there'd be no more sleep for me, I got up to do my exercises. I was done at 4:30. Then hit the shower, weigh-in, and played my music. I was bored last night, so I had already boiled eggs and prepared breakfast, just sitting in the fridge waiting for me. So today, my LAST step of my ritual is writing my journal. Food is eaten and I am now here enjoying my coffee and petting the cat.

She's not popular these days. We bought a fake (but REALLY nice) Xmas tree, and Wife decorated it SO nicely. Then, after I left for work yesterday, and before Wife woke up, "someone" had been messing with the tree and tore off two branches! This is a brand spankin' new 50 dollar tree. Sadly, it doesn't seem like we can repair it. We turned it to hide the hole in the tree, but it just sucks knowing that it's broken after 4 days. Oh, well. There's not really much to do about it. I love my cat, but she can be such a pain. It seems like she can just smell expensive, breakable stuff from far far away. :(

...and then, as she is lying here in my lap, she's SO cute... :)

So, today I have work as always. I haven't checked my schedule yet, but I think I have a few interviews, and a little bit of "pile work" that I need to catch up on. My piles look much nicer (and smaller) though. I got a LOT of it done yesterday. It feels good when you accomplish and catch up, doesn't it?

I'm gonna try to be standing up most of the day again. It actually feels great, and I know it burns more calories than sitting. :)

Then, after work, it's my ROCKIN' WITH THE KIDS night. I'll be looking forward to this. We're talking about adding Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit to the set list, so we have three songs to play. We'll see how far they make it.

Today's food will be leftovers from the last few days. It's all good food, low calorie and easy to fit into my RDI, but it's all HEAVY foods. I don't expect to lose any actual weight, but maybe my fat percentage will be down again? Only time will tell...

No matter, today is gonna be a long, but fun-filled day, and I am looking forward to it.

I hope your day is gonna be just as awesome!

Life is good!

You must be right that your BF% cannot be right at 6.3% ... At least itis giving you a guide though.... Remember if you have stand on scales, these only weight the BF% on the bottom half of your body (hand held ones, measure one half of your body, or the top of your body). So it could be, that your BF% is low in that area. That's why women tend to be higher on the stand on ones, as we carry more BF in that area - and if you have big boobs (not saying you have LOL) and use a hand held body composition scale - it will show a high BF%

As much as I would like to use BF %'s as a measure, this is the very reason I won't get one of these scales. Couldn't find anything that had consistently good reviews on the accuracy of these. From hand helds to stand on's...none of them seemed to really be 'accurate'.

I'm sure there is nothing very accurate about it, but as SkInny says, it gives me something to measure. It's a number, and I can see it change - and that helps. But of course it would be great to be able to relate/compare.

Huh - I never actually considered that boogers weigh anything. So we should all pick our noses before weighing? I have a BF % scale that I like and I think is fairly accurate for me - it's a Weight Watchers brand and measures other things, also, like % of water, and a few other things I can't remember.

I appreciate your 10 cents!!! I'm not overly concerned about how "accurate" the numbers are ... I simply wanted some other options for measuring overall progress. Shoot, the scale isn't necessarily accurate either, it varies incredibly from day to day. Anyway, I'm happy you had a decline on your scale. So sorry your wife is still under the weather. And ... naughty kitty!!! Have a wonderful day ... take care!

Ugh... I haven't had breakfast yet... What are you people going on about! The weight and fat percentage of boogers? Piles? I almost spit out my coffee reading about that. LOL! The kitty story was actually funny cause my husband won't put up our tree cause of our young dogs. I think it's time to put the tree up anyway. It's all in the Christmas spirit... who cares if it's missing a few limbs. HA HA!

Between my dogs waggle tail and our house rabbit's nibbly nose, we wait til the week before. We certainly can't put pressys under there. It does seem that there are some odd fluctuations in the earths gravitational field.... It is deffinatly stronger in my house!

You ok Kingkeld?

@Rpalmst - yeah, I'm okay. Thanks for asking. I'm sick with the flu, busy at work and just needed a day off from it all. I'm fully back on track, but have been eating heavy food (but okay on calories). That's why the weight gain is there, I think. I appreciate you asking.
