Fun filled, family weekend! - All things 'diet' related, went great!

Busy day on tap...and no time to fill in the details right now, but will be back later.

The one thing I do want to touch on in my journal today is regarding 'personal motivation'. Now, this time of year, it is critical that you remind yourself - everyday - why... WHY you are doing this! WHY this is important to you! WHY your choices matter!

It's far easier to get thru each day, each week, when you pay attention to keeping your personal motivation - HIGH! If you can find a way to start each day w/ a few minutes 'for you' - and look at where you are at...where you have come from... and what your mindset is for the day! Keeping your overall goals in mind...just focus on the most successful day TODAY that you can have!

Exercise, if you can. Choose foods wisely, whenever possible. Plan out strategies for 'work parties' or 'neighborhood cookies' dropped at your door...etc. Be on the alert! BE CONSISTENTLY DILIGENT - if you didn't plan for it... then don't eat it!

It is not necessary or a requirement to eat or consume food to have fun or enjoy the holidays! Pick and Choose carefully what you will, or will not have! And you will face New Year's w/ a smile on your face!

Great philosophy, you are sooooo right.... Without focus and motivation to succeed you are on a slippery slope

Great tip! Thank you for that Jsfantome. I find myself more and more tempted each week as Christmas is around the corner. I have to keep reminding myself why I am doing this. I'll have to incorporate a mini pep talk to myself each morning, especially on the weekend.

OMG wish I'd read this before I had that coffee and muffin this morning! I'm at such a 'who gives a flying ????" at the moment! Thanks for your post this morning. I so wish I had the courage to stop the present buying - there aren't many of us in the buying circle, 5 at most, but is my lovely MIL that is at the root of it all. She is a wonderful, lovely lady and I adore her. But she has lots of money and lots of time and seems to have lots of ideas and spoils us all rotten and I feel we have to reciprocate! I have tried to tell her to cut back and she has tried, but she never succeeds and brings packages and packages for all of us. SIGH. So this will continue until she isn't with us any more or becomes incapable of driving herself, neither of which is in the immediate future. So I will try to stop being such a Grinch and get out there and get it done. None of us need a thing - these days if we need/want we go buy right away. Oh well its only 3 weeks until its all over. Thanks Paula for always being a bright spot and a great motivator.

Great thoughts. Sadly, I am in one of those yucky moods today. Not sure it really matters what i eat these days. but I am trying not to let that stop me from doing as near right with food as I possibly can! Hopefully your motivation will spread to me :)

Thanks Paula for sharing your thoughts....as always they are on target and just what I needed to read for the day....sometimes, I think you are reading my mind...but, of course, we all are basically in the same boat, feeling the same things, and wondering just how we are going to pull off living day to day at times. Thanks again for sharing.
