peppymint's Journal, 29 November 2011

I sucked it up and entered my cheesecake binge into my food journal for yesterday :( It was absolutely delicious (BF's mom made it!) but it was so not worth it.. I've been slacking on entering food into my journal. TIME TO START BEING ACCOUNTABLE!

But I did Jillian's 30 Day Shred Level 2 workout yesterday! I forgot how much I hate her :) She really is a great though. I was sweating more in 20 minutes than I was during my half marathon!! So because I worked out yesterday, that means I didn't get a chance to go food shopping. Which means I MUST go today. Didn't bring lunch... so that means buying a big, healthy spinach salad with hard boiled eggs and grilled chicken and lots of veggies :) YUM! I'm actually pretty excited for it.

So does anyone have any yummy salad recipes/ideas? I'd love to pick up some yummies at the grocery store to make them, but I need a little inspiration!

I actually have been cooking salads from VeggieWorks and I must say their dishes are awesome. I tried linking some from my cookbook but it seems like links don't work in these comment boxes. But yeah I've done the German Potato Salad, Vegan Mac Salad, and Garden Pasta Salad and my husband and I have loved them all.

Being accountable is absolutely the key to success. East what you want, in moderation. Register EVERYTHING. Before you know it, you will have a pretty good idea about what you can "afford to do" and what will have to wait until another day. Welcome back to the accountable you. No more excuses. Home made cheese cake or not. I think it's okay to have some, but don't succomb to it. Make it a conscious choice to have it, and prepare yourself to the consequences. Evaluate the consequences first. Consider a potential weight gain. If it's worth it, go ahead. If it's not - and remember how you'll be kicking yourself afterwards for giving it - then skip it. One minute of indulgence is not worth the rest of the day being annoyed.
