I made my goal weight and I couldn't be any happier. I am very pleased with the HCG diet. After reading the protocol by Dr Simeons, I was able to understand a lot more about how it works. The HCG, or pregnancy hormone, triggers the body to make all the reserved fat stores available to burn, which would not normally be easily accessible as fuel. The HCG allows the body to exist on a 500 calorie diet without going into starvation mode and without burning muscle tissue. This preserves the muscle while targeting the fat stores. The reason we don't get very hungry is because we are literally living off our own fat. This is brilliant. Dr. Simeons spent his whole career studying obesity and I am personally very grateful. This gives me a fresh new start and I'm not going to waste it. I am now in the stabilization phase and tomorrow will begin 1500 calories a day with no sugars or starches. Bring it on!
