Firebelly's Journal, 26 June 2016

My company had a wine tasting celebration this week at a pretty vineyard. I partook in everything and then went home and had ice cream and cake. Wine does weaken your resolve which is why I'm going to reserve it for special occasions. I've been exercising and back eating LCHF so I'm back on the horse. Planned excursions from LCHF are just a fact of life so I'm not going to yell or punish myself. I'll just remember that I can skip the binge after the social event -- the food tasted better around others at the party.

Isn't it weird? I always want more to eat at the next meal after I have eaten too much at some special occasion. Have to stay alert at those times lest the upward spiral begins (again).

Firebelly, you are SO RIGHT! I went to a potluck with some of my friends this morning and, while we all love whole food and cooking from scratch, there were foods I ate that I don't usually (even at our quarterly potlucks). I also ate more than I would otherwise, and now am keenly interested in eating something sugary -- doubtless because Ed's cake had a mighty thick frosting. I keep reminding myself that I'm at home now, and "can go back to eating my usual food (glad I don't have any sugar in my apartment)." We now turn back to LCHF, and I am honored that you are in my company on this!

You are doing well - alcohol does make us have less resolve with food.

Thanks everyone! Your support really means a lot, especially when I begin to doubt myself. I love this community!
