FINALLY! I dropped a pound. It feels like FOREVER since any weight has come off at all. It feels really really good.

Got some new shoes this weekend too... Took the plunge and bought the Vibram five-finger toe shoes. My brothers swear by them and I bought them to be able to run and keep training for my half marathon without destroying my shins anymore. They're supposed to completely change my running technique, and after only one short 2 mile run, I can honestly say.... I AGREE. I worked a completely new set of muscles and I am SORE BEYOND BELIEF. My calves feel like there are two huge knots right smack in the middle of them... but hey, no pain, no gain, right?

I just really hope that I will be able to train these new muscles to the point that I was at before... 9 miles was my longest run before I had to stop and rest. I have 34 days to make this happen. And it WILL happen.

I'm determined :)

Never heard of the Vibram five-finger toe shoes, gonna have to investigate that! And, wow...Outstanding! 9 miles befor stopping is incredible! Keep it up, I'm rooting for you that you'll be ready in about a month to tackle that personal challenge you've made for yourself!

I swear by the Vibrams too. My only suggestion is to build up slowly, cause you will be working muscles in your feet that probably haven't seen much action. And WOW, 9 miles is a long run.

Thanks guys! Firelair.. If you're into running at all, definitely give the vibrams a shot. I've only run in the twice so far, and they are a-maz-ing. My shins have stopped hurting (MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!) and my knees and hips don't ache either.. they just make running feel very natural!

I definitely will have to! I checked them out on the RDI website and looked over some reviews! Once I get some expendable cash, I'll do just that and let you know ;D
