Scale moving downward again on a daily basis instead of a weekly basis. My little experiment last month shows me what I need to do to maintain, and I'm happy that I can eat some higher carb things a few times a week and then a few days of lower carb and not gain or lose. For some reason even though I've lost a lot of weight and I am in no way as fat as I was, I still look fat to myself when I'm nude in front of the mirror. I wonder how much more I need to lose before I don't look fat to myself. I had a few positives. I bought a new bra and a pair of underwear and found that I can fit into a C cup (really? from a DD to a C??) but not all C cups are the same. Some had my boobs overflowing and the one I bought did NOT. So like most clothing I'll never know what my real size is, cause it's not the same from mfg to mfg. Grr.. The underwear were a size 7! The last size I recall buying were not even a number just x something, and before that a 9 or an 8, so the fact I actually fit into a size 7 underwear is very delightful. Course that doesn't mean I can fit into a size 7 pants. I think I'm about a 10-12 now, but I haven't tried on any clothing in awhile, but all my size 14 things seem much too loose.

Congratulations on the new sizes! I'm like you, none of the sizes are the same. So, I might wear a 12 in one kind of jeans, or a 15 in another! It gets to be frustrating when trying to shop for new clothes. You were talking about eating the higher carb foods, have you worked through all the rungs yet? I only ask as I'm wondering when I will start adding in the higher carb foods, like Apples and sweet potatoes. I don't think I have a very high carb tolerance like you seem too. If I had to guess, 35 total carbs would be my ACE. Any ideas you have would be appreciated! Again Congrats :)

I dabble in the rungs here and there...I didn't climb the ladder as listed I added in the berries before the nuts, I don't do the fresh cheese items. I kind of follow atkins and an intutive diet. If my body is really craving something, I find it's better to have it and move on. So if I really want an apple, I'll just eat like a 1/3 of it with some cheese and meats as a meal (i did that yesterday) I focus more on the net carbs, then what rung of the ladder it should be added back in. It does me no good to add in a certain food I don't like or won't enjoy eating on that particular day. Occasionally if I eat bread it does not seem to affect me, but it has to be rare. I found it's just best to eat a new food for a few days and see how it might affect you scale and body wise and make choices from there. I found with this method that I could eat any type of Mexican food even the chips and the beans and still lose. I have a pretty low carb level for losing...about 35-40 as well. But some of my method has unintentionally been a carb spike type of thing. I'll go along real good for 5 days about the same net carbs, but when the weekend hits, I might eat anywhere from 40-100 one or two days. I can maintain my weight this way, but not lose.

Congrats on your success and new sizes! I know its time for me to buy a few new things as I transition. I don't have a clue what size I am. I automatically go to the womens'dept and start with XL and 2X. Will have to completely change my mind set. You have made some interesting comments regarding the carb adjustments. I need to refocus and track to find my correct levels for losing - feeling very irratic these last few weeks. AGAIN - CONGRATS TO YOU! Enjoy your day:)

That's great you have been able to eat some foods that are not on plan. Now if that were me? No way lol. I tried adding in some good complex carbs a few weeks ago and started gaining immediately. The thought of being out of ketosis scares me to death. But you are much closer to your goal than I am. Thanks for all the tips Icy :)

I waited awhile before doing those experiments Smerrill, and it usually only takes me 2 days to get back into Ketosis if I deviate too much. Course I'm probably confusing the heck out of my body, but this way makes it much easier for me to stick to the WOE long term. I have to exist in the real world, and sometimes that will mean eating something high carb or with flour. As long as I don't do that very often, I think I can maintain a healthy weight long term.

Finally went out last week and got some new clothes. I don't have a clue what is in my fall clothing back waiting in the closet for when the weather changes. I may not have anything to wear! Which would be awesome, but would also mean more money on clothes.
