Well I had my first experience with fast food since I've been following South Beach. It was Tuesday after work. It was a busy evening and I had a 7pm meeting I had to go to (and take both my sons with me due to no babysitter). It was about 5:30 and I had just gotten home from getting soccer pictures taken for my little one. I was tired and cranky, didn't feel like making anything, because I was thinking "what am I going to be able to prepare, cook, eat, and clean up before 6:45 to leave in time for the meeting?

So I did it, packed up the kids for fast food. I went to subway and got a grilled chicken salad with no cheese and lots of veggies to go, I brought my own skim shredded cheese and dressing. Then I took the kids to McDonald's and we ate there.

When we sit at the table and I'm handing out all the food, I eat about 4-5 french fries. Then I start craving a McFlurry. I'm able to tell myself "NO" and the craving goes away. Then the kids start asking for a cookie. Now let me tell you I LOVE McDonald's cookies. My mouth started watering. I WANTED a cookie! I grab my phone and open by fatsecret app and put the McDonald's chocolate chip cookie in my diet calendar and see ALL the carbs...so...I get the kids and say let's go. I got out of there. I knew if I stuck around much longer I wouldn't be able to say no. But I did it, I said no. I'm so proud of myself!

I love this site! Normally I would have said...one cookie isn't going to hurt, but with the diet calendar I can see exactly what it's going to do. :)
