New MrsRando's Journal, 09 September 2011

Well, after a few days it looks like I didn't get down to that 189 that I weighed it at the Saturday before last... or at least I didn't stay there for long. I'm back up to 192.4 as of this morning. I feel somewhat defeated and it's been really hard to get back into the swing of things.

Several life events are contributing to this feeling. My MIL moved in and it's been slightly chaotic trying to bring her into the fold of our normal household flow. She has places she needs to go or ideas of what we need for the house and there's been a lot of back and forth. Second, she has been cooking dinner and I have no idea what she is using to cook with. I think she is using a lot of oils but I've basically not been able to log my dinners since I got back because I don't have the time to sit with her and figure out what ingredients are in the food. I'm still trying to figure out how to get around this one. Maybe just having her cook my portion plain instead of adding all the stuff she'd been adding to the meats... I don't know...

I also haven't been able to get to the gym yet this week. I feel like I'm starting to fall off the horse. My plan is to go to the gym early tomorrow but now my daughter has ANOTHER birthday party to go to this weekend and ANOTHER one next weekend.

I still haven't done enough of my school work to feel comfortable that I will be passing this class. I'm under a lot stress regarding money and I kind of feel a little manic about it.

I'm really frustrated that life seems to be getting in the way of trying to lose this weight. It was so much easier in the summer months to do this and it feels like I won't reach my goal because I don't have the time or motivation again...

That is a lot going on in your life right now. I know you're stressed, but remember to breathe! Things WILL settle down and you WILL be able to get back into your routine. It will get better. Stay positive! :)

Thanks pk. I know I have to just start the process again but for some reason it's harder starting again than just starting the first time. I will try and stay positive and just recommit to the process everyday again.

I have completely lost control of my diet. No exercising and eating whatever and whenever for the past month or so. Everytime I say I'm getting back on track....I never do. Once you get out of your routine, it's so hard to get started again. Sounds like you do have too many stressors in your life right now. Hope you find your way again. You were doing so well.

Thanks tbaum. I'm trying to just hang on right now. I have to do my school work first, that has to be my first priority but I'm trying desperately hard to remind myself not to eat when I'm not hungry, eat smaller portions if I'm pretty sure what my MIL has cooked isn't as calorie conscious, and check in here to enter the food I can. I really hope that you can get back on track too. You are right, for some reaon it's harder to get back on the horse after you fall off. I'm not sure why but it sucks. The important this is that you are still coming in here so you want to get back on that horse. Hopefully you and I can do this together. Thank you so much for your words of support and encouragement. I really needed it.

I know how you're feeling. I work and go to school full time. I'm currently working on my Bachelor's Degree and it is tough balancing everything on top of weight loss. Hang in there, and we are all here for support. :)

It's tough to strike a balance but it's important to make sure that you're always setting aside some "me" time. You'll always run into weeks where you just can't make it work but in the end, it falls back on our priorities and YOU have to be somewhere on that list, preferably towards the top. Try to schedule yourself in and if you find that you keep getting bumped, find a time that works better- maybe you're more likely to get your workout in first thing in the monring than later in the day? Keep in mind too that any activity or exercise is better than nothing so when you can't make it to the gym, at least try to get out for a walk after dinner or something. Try doing some sit-ups, planks, push-ups, etc during your tv time in the evenings- wherever you can find a few minutes. Working up a sweat is also good stress relief ;-) Good luck getting everything to work!

Thanks gnat. I'm still trying to get back into exercise mode but I'm stil being pretty successful with watching what I'm eating. Looking forward to some me time getting exercising.
