AlgaeGirl's Journal, 22 September 2009

This wasn't the best week for me. We're starting our prep work in order to move at the end of October. Getting rid of old clothes, magazines, weird things that I can't remember why I needed them in the first place.

Added to that, I've aggravated an old leg injury. I feel up a flight of stairs when I was 13 and cracked my shinbone hard enough to take a chunk out the bone without actually breaking it. Sometimes when I've been on my feet too long, especially in shoes that aren't supportive, I get knee pain and than leads to back pain. I've been resting and soaking and attempting to stay off it, but I miss doing all my cardio...

September hasn't been good to me, weight-wise. And I'm not sure about October either, since we're moving and all. I can just hope for the best and know that if I fall down, it's a lot easier to get back up than it used to be.

Hey Algae, its been a while since I checked in with you. Sorry about the leg. I can imagine how frustrating that is. Don't worry about the Sept, I am with you...it hasn't been a great month. But you know what, we appear to have not gained any great deal of the weight back and that alone is a win. If October is going to be a rough one, try just to stay level. I'll try to be back with some more comments, I think I am still frustrated by my long ride getting cut short. Thursday I am going to leave on the start of a 240 mile ride from our place to the beach for a week. I've kept this one to myself so as not to jinx it but I hope I make it. If I don't comment for a while I will be back October 3 and we can start working that OCT THING....keep rolling if your leg lets you. Best Jim

Sorry an old injury is acting up...Set a simple goal for the last couple days of September until your birthday. I know how it is, wanting something to happen when you want it. I am always telling myself, "I can not control what the scale says; I can only control what I put into my body or how I choose to maintain it." So abide by that philosophy and don't judge success by the scale for the next month, judge it by what you need to personally do to get through your injury and the move until you hit your birthday. You should be so proud of yourself, even if you don't get to your birthday goal weight. Think of how much weight you have lost, and other than your pesky leg, how much better you FEEL!
