amanda182uk's Journal, 16 September 2009

Slept very very badly last night, tossed and turned the whole night. I am now on day 3 of atkins and as of this morning I have lost 4 pounds!! I'm not sure I can fully believe this as I am mid TOM and only 2 days into Atkins - can it really happen that fast???

I would normally munch my way through at least 8 slices of bread in one day and have a huge serving of pasta or potatoes at dinner, so does cutting this stuff out really make such a huge difference?

Either way I'm happy, but not going to get my hopes up that this loss will continue so rapidly!!

Hello, Well on induction it has been my experience that after the two weeks was up, I lost the most amount of weight. During my induction period I lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks. :) But once induction was over the weightloss slowed down. You lose a lot of water weight during induction then you start losing fat. :) For me when TOM rolls around I gain a few pounds then stall the following week. Good thing you are losing. :) I have been doing Atkins now for about 4 months and I really enjoy it. I eat more healthy now then I ever have. Reading the Atkins book(2002 edition) has taught me to make better food choice and now I am a label reader. I wish you the best during your weightloss journey.

Hi Sandra Thanks for your comments :) I have just woken up on day 5 and weighed in and in the past 2 days I have lost 200g, not a lot and a little bit disappointing but I'm trying to be happy with the initial 4 pounds and we'll see how the next 10 days go! :)
