Sandy701's Journal, 09 August 2011

Walked 3.1 miles this AM, doggies .7 - UGH Index probably an 8 due to a very nice nearly-steady breeze and occasional big clouds blocking the sun - 85 when I started, 89 when I finished.

I had thought I was going to abort anything outdoors today when DH told me the heat index was already 99 in the neighboring city and it was just after 6AM. But when I got up and went outside and felt that strong breeze, I reconsidered and I'm glad I did. It was probably the most comfortable walk in at least a week.

I'm going to try to get that shopping in that I didn't do yesterday. It turns out I need to take back an XL shirt I purchased as it's too big (yay!). AND...when I was getting ready to walk today, I discovered all my walking shorts in 14 were in the laundry (forgot to put them in the dryer yesterday). So-o-o-o....it was time to give the 12's a try. They fit fine and are probably the size I should be wearing, as lots of movement and sweat tends to make the 14's slide down a bit, which is my usual indicator to drop a size - at least for walking.

Got all the grilling done yesterday without being caught in a storm, so I'm good to go for several days' worth of protein/meat.

Whopee!! Congrats on having all the 14's in the laundry, I bet those 12's fit & look really nice! I hate making returns, UNLESS it's because it is TOO BIG! Yeah for you! A whole new category for you! XL's be gone & bring on the L's!! You have been doing so well, such a steady & healthy way to go!

Thanks Dar, Buffy, Notfast, Paula & Evie. Months ago, I truly believed 14 would be my final size but as things have progressed, I decided to buy 1 pair of 12's - just in case. I got them on eBay and didn't pay all that much so no worries if I never got into them. Then, awhile later, I thought, gee, maybe I should get another pair, you know, since it's my favorite style that is no longer made. Then, maybe a month or so ago, I actually tried them on and they zipped and didn't feel all that tight, so I kept looking and bought another pair. I don't know why it took a laundry delay to force me to really wear a pair. Hope you're all having a great night.

Hey there, Bren. As for the XL, well, I would still say that's my size. It just seems like this particular garment was cut on the large side. Love your optimism on the Medium! But I don't expect to be a Medium, as I was never that size even when I was in the 130's, but you're right...I have to get into the habit of trying things on these days rather than blindly buying what looks like it will fit. Hope your evening was great!

Lisa, yes, those pounds do love me a lot so it's quite nice to bid farewell to them, even if it's slow and one at a time. At least they're leaving! Hope your Wednesday's great.
