Amazon815's Journal, 04 September 2009

I am doing some spring cleaning in my kitchen today and planning meals. I find that it is very difficult to stay within calories while eating with the family (most of whom don't have weight problems and don't want "diet" food:) I have to eat differently in order to be healthy and lose weight but cannot force my sister, mom, nephews and nieces to completely change their diet. Perhaps if my family observes my new healthy eating habits, they will be more inclined to try it too.

I have the same issues! My hubby eats ANYTHING! Never gains an ounce. I make him something to eat (not good stuff) and then fix my healthy food. He tells me once last week, you know...I would eat what you eat. I said no you won't! So, we made the sweet potato hash we found here in the recipes two nights ago. Served it, waited for about 5 bites and asked what he thought. He said, "IT SUCKS!". LOL Makes it very difficult and more expensive for sure.

Sounds like your the cook of the house and what my mom would do when I was growing up was whatever she cooked for dinner, that's what you eat. If you don't like it, then you don't eat and don't try to cook anything after she went to bed cause in the morning you expect a switch (or bigger) across your backside.

LOL - if only I had the choice of eating it or not. My granny's motto was whether I like it or not - I WAS going to eat it!
