3.7 miles walked this morning; doggies along for 1.5 miles. It was 84 degrees when we started off, but cloudy with a bit of a breeze, so I thought I could stretch the doggies' time outside.

But, after taking them home, it began to thunder when I was not even halfway done with the additional mileage. Strange weather, though, as there were portions of the sky that were clear blue. I got rained on briefly, but the rest of the walk was OK. The thunder was distant enough that I hopped into the pool for a bit to cool off.

Now, however, we have some storms building right on top of us. Both dogs are under the computer desk, so I may lose my connection anytime. One of my dogs has this habit of scooting herself into the far back corner and when she's adjusting her position to squeeze herself into the smallest place behind the tower, she inevitable sits on a cord, pulling it a bit which disconnects something!

Looks like we have a birthday party to go to Friday night. But the good news is that it's at a fish/seafood restaurant. I'll check to see if their menu's online and, hopefully, find an acceptable meal.

Sandy - Nice that the doggies got a little longer walk today. I do know that you take good care of them. They must really hate the 4th of July. Hope you have fun Friday night! Seafood - YUM! We have an office party tomorrow with donuts - not to worry - will bring coffee from home and no one will care that I'm not eating one. Now, please excuse me for not getting this the first time, but is your goal to increase total carbs to 50? Am trying to keep everybody's experiments straight in case I ever need to copy.

No problem. My current experiment is to focus on total carbs, rather than net carbs, keeping the total carb level below 50 (actually 40, if I can). The way I was going previously was trying to keep my NC level in the low 30's. However, that often meant that my TC level went above 50 which I had thought made no big difference - it was only the NCs that "counted." But that thread over on Atkins seems to indicate that for anyone with slowing losses, after being on Atkins for awhile, that dropping total carbs below 50 got them going again. So, if anything, this means my overall carb level is decreasing.

Your explanation is much appreciated!
