Walked 3.1 miles this morning; 90 degrees when I finished. Whew...it was HOT!!

Did not sleep that well last night as I couldn't get to sleep until after 2AM. Not sure what that was all about.

ADDED AFTER 10pm...Well, DH brought home some leftovers from a BBQ at work; Atkins-friendly stuff like meat. I sampled one of each, but suspect that the burger patty is one of those made with fillers of some sort. Also, the chicken leg tasted of some sweet BBQ sauce. The hot dog was great, even though it's not the best choice on Atkins. Anyway, my calories are high today so I suspect I'll be paying for this for at least a few days (big sigh).

Checking out your journal - impressive walk. I still struggle doing 1 mile on the elliptical. I am not a newbie to exercise, but I am not consistent - (was going to say "enough") - but replacing that thought with "yet". I think your profile is very encouraging and will have to think of you when I want to give up. Thanks again.

Caterpillar, I admire anyone who can do an elliptical! I'm not sure I'd be coordinated enough and so I have visions of myself falling in and amongst the pedals and getting hit by the arm thingies! Walking on non-moving ground is a whole lot safer for me. Have a good day!

I use to be afraid of the elliptical, too and that same mental picture but with my body being mangled. And to make it worse, I could not do it physically - got to winded in a short time. I started out on a recumbent bike. It is like sitting in a recliner and pedaling. I could do that for a few minutes at a time. It took a long time (at least it seemed) to get to the point I could try and do the elliptical. I am working back up to 30 minutes at a time - at 20 now. My pace is not real fast, but I am sweating when I stop. Thanks for the trip down memory road. A good reminder that at one time I could not go even 5 minutes on an elliptical.
