Sandy701's Journal, 20 July 2011

3.1 miles walked today at a slightly-more-than-3.0mph pace (sigh). I think the heat is doing a number on me, as I've been in the 3.0 - 3.1 mph range the last few times I've calculated it. So, I've set my exercise defaults back to the 3 mph pace, probably until late summer or fall when the weather cools and I (hopefully) move faster.

After the almond butter pig-out yesterday, I felt terrrible...over-full, bloated, almost nauseous. But a part of me said, "Great....just keep all these uncomfortable feelings in mind the next time you're thinking of having "just a little" of the nut butters." I truly have no idea why the peanuts and nut butters have such a pull on me. I've thought and thought but there's no history or fond memories, or whatever, associated with them.

My body also decided to hang onto extra weight overnight. In the last few months, I've been tracking my late night weight compared to my early morning weight to get an idea how much my body burns when resting/sleeping. Just an odd curiosity, I guess. Anyway, I've been fairly consistent with dropping an average of 5 oz. per hour....dropping a pound takes slightly over 3 hours. I've actually been able to predict my AM weight based on what my late night/after dinner weight is and how many hours until weigh-in in the morning. (Yes, I know...I really need to get a life...) Well, last night, after all the almond butter throughout the day, I only dropped 1.5 pounds in 9 hours when I should have dropped much more! Interesting.

Today's foods are intentionally mixed. I dropped the cheese from my late breakfast and added a 3rd egg. Dinner is lighter, but I'm adding a protein shake about 2 hours after the salad, which I ate in late afternoon. I AM hungry now, looking forward to that shake.
