I'm feeling a little better today. I got back to working harder at the gym - did a more challenging program on the elliptical and sweated my butt off so I felt pretty good about that. I'm just thinking I'm in a bit of a funk generally. I talked to the BF about it last night and he was encouraging and complimentary but I know that it's all mental and I need to get hold of myself and do a bit of an attitude adjustment.

I had to make myself stop getting on the scale every day because the fluctuations were making me nuts. I'm retaining a bunch of water - I think because of the heat - so I know I'll get rid of it eventually but why make myself crazy in the meantime.

I had a ginormous salad for dinner last night with a ton of veggies which was great but I did notice I was feeling really hungry this morning. I started in with the water right away and ate my oatmeal as slowly as possible which seems to have helped.

Keep your fingers crossed for me today - my company is having lunch brought in and the woman in charge of ordering said "Oh, I got something you can eat - a chicken caesar salad with dressing on the side." I know she was trying to be nice and accomodating but caesar dressing is on "the bad list." My real temptation today will be the cookies...can't decide if I should try to eat one and stop or avoid them completely.

avoid the cookies completely!! the reason i say that is because i have a feeling you'll use some of the caesar dressing on ur salad...and who wouldn't?! a dry salad is not so good. think of us when ur around the cookies! :) good luck!

Maybe pick up some fat free dressing to bring with you. also, no bakery makes cookies as good as I do, so I don't even try them anymore, they are so full of shortening and no butter what is the point? But they are cookies, so they won't be terrible but what will you gain (literally!) if you eat one and then can't stop? I am going through a funk now too - hit a plateau and can't lose a pound! Good luck!

I'm back from lunch. Had 1 tbsp of dressing and 1 cookie. I took a veggie wrap, tossed the wrap and put the filling in my salad. I didn't touch the bread, the mayo-laden salads or anything else that looked tempting. I made a plan about what I would eat and stuck to it...even if it did involve a cookie : )

I think the best thing on a salad is lemon with olive oil - its so easy to make, and is so tasty. Its a little late for todays lunch, but next time!!!

Thanks Shia! MomofTwoGirls - I love that...especially on arugula! I wish I'd had some more choices but I did the best I could with what I had and I'm still on track Points-wise.
