well i made through the family reunion, and i must say i think i did pretty good. i had a bbq sandwich, veggies(raw), about 1 tbsp. of baked beans and fruit and then i had my diet dessert(that i took). so all in all i think i handled my self pretty well, and hopefully not too much damage was done. i think that losing 3 lbs. at weigh-in this week helped me to stay on course. i didn't want to gain the 3 back next weigh-in. i'm still working on breaking old habits but when i make it through an occasion such as this it gives me hope that i might actually be changing and hopefully this will be the final diet i will ever have to be on. don't get me wrong i know that if the weight is going to stay off, these changes must stay with me, but this time around things seem to be different, and i seem to appreciate more the way i feel about it all now. i truly believe that this is a journey for me, not just losing the weight but a whole new way of looking at life, when my parents both passed away, it gave me a whole new perspective on life, "life is short, and i want to be able to make the most of the life i have left".

That's great! Getting control over food is one of the problem we fail why we gain weight and you certainly did a GOOD JOB on that. Just stay focus and don't deprive yourself too much. That's my strategy anyways, because when I prevent myself from eating the food I like, that's when I binged. Keep it up.

your so right, i think thats why i've failed at dieting before, i was able to reach a goal, but then when i got there i went crazy having all the things i had been denying myself. i'm trying very hard not to do that this time, i allow myself "little splurges" once in awhile and i try to find lighter versions of my favorite things so i can have them and not feel deprived. thanks for your support it is much appreciated.
