Hildi72's Journal, 10 February 2015

Well a new day. Looking forward to having a salad for lunch and starting to get back on track. On the bright side, my junk food binge did not add to much of a weight gain but I have to stay focused to lose the weight. I have plateaued at 238-242 range and at some point I have to break the impasse.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Weekends KILL ME. I am up 2 pounds. But I also know that getting back on the wagon makes all the difference in the world. I have also felt like crap since eating and drinking whatever I wanted this weekend so more motivation to cut that to a minimum. Onward and upward! Or downward, sorry...

itsmeonlyfatfree - Yes, weekends are hard to stay on plan. The issue is that my wife is not on my carb free plan..same with daughter. I am trying to stop getting "snack" type food from being purchased. If the snacks are not in the house then they do not get consumed. Also, I want to keep bread, cakes, donuts, bagels and the such from being purchased. I don't want to be seen as the "carb ogre"....always saying no this and no that. SO, i stay on my diet when I am not around them and try to be good when I am around them. Basically, my work week turns out ok but the weekends tend to sabotage me. Gotta work on my plan even on the weekends or else I will not break the plateau. Good luck to everyone fighting the daily battles...and you are right its not the battle that needs to be won...its the war.

Dude let them eat whatever they want. This is your journey and just be more disciplined. Not calling you out but seems like if that type of food is around it's an easy copout for you to eat. I cook all my meals on Sunday, breakfast, lunch and dinner. It keeps me in "my lane". I go out to eat dinner every Saturday and go out every Sunday morning for breakfast before I buy my groceries for the week, or what I need. Good luck sir and stay in your lane.

Rocky...you are right. I need to just focus on my own journey and let people do what they will do. I will just focus on making sure that I resist what is there and just make my meals for me. Thanks for that swift kick in the pants, its time to buck up.

Trust me Hil, once you start really making that change and your family see's those results they will change their eating habits as well. You must be very selfish and do this for yourself at first, then once you have changed from within, mindset and living style your family will already be under your umbrella. Good luck and stay in your lane!

Sorry to be devil's advocate, but I see nothing wrong in looking out for the health of yourself and your family. If you're gonna suffer, take them down with you! Hah. Half joking. :P On the other hand, resisting temptation is awesome and empowering. After a while, you might find it grosses you out. I was like that until Xmas came and I developed the taste for shite food again. :\ Undoing the damage now and so far it's going well.

Sigh, I don't want to sound preachy....so maybe I will lead by example. As they see my pounds melt away, I think they will follow my lead. Ultimately, I can't make anyone do anything they don't want to do...so I have to focus on my own efforts and that will lead to good results.
