Isn't it remarkable that weighing in at 220 lbs. can be exciting!?! Gosh to say that to myself 20 years ago when I weighed 132 would have been a laugh! I would have been horrified and disgusted to even imagine being over 200! Well it's been about a month and in this past month I have lost 11 pounds, I have stopped eating fast food, started exercising, started taking my vitamin regularly and generally feel better about myself.

I have only told 3 people (other than my online family here) that I have started a healthier lifestyle. Of the people I have told only one sees me regularly as we work together. The others I see maybe once or twice a year because of distance. I am eager to see when I get my first comment from someone who doesn't know about my loss. That is always a boost isn't it!

As I have been weighing in, I have also been taking my measurements (in 6 places). Apparently my weight is leaving my mid section first (bust, waist and hips). Which is great as those areas will have the most impact to my visual appearance. I would love to see my upper arms, thighs and calves start melting away too though. I know those will be the areas that will require focused exercises to tighten and I am willing to do whatever it takes (as long as it doesn't require medication or surgery) to get there.

I love being me! I love this journey and the upcoming transformation in appearance, activity levels and attitude! I'm on my way!

I am considering investing in a Wii or Kinect system too. My exercise plan at the moment is just to get started moving! Bicycling mainly. In times past I would jump into a diet and an exercise program like a maniac and the level at which I started and tried to maintain was ridiculous. Yes, each time I lost weight and once just over 100 pounds (100.4) but it wasn't a lifestyle change and honestly could not be something a person could maintain as such unless they were just insane. This go around my whole mindset is different. Gonna take it slow and incorporate exercise as I can and as my fitness level improves. Trying to make this go around be my last weight loss initiative and then just take all that I have learned and practiced on the bumpy road and make it my life...no longer a diet or exercise plan...just a part of who I am and what I do.
