HerStrawberri's Journal, 30 May 2011

So this weekend has been bad in regards to carb intake. That's ok though. Tomorrow is a new day and i will move on. I always have a hard time on the weekends. I'm really going to try to work on that. I started out good today then my partner wanted an icecream cone and so it was all down hiss after that, yes I could of said no...but honestly I didn't want too. I enjoyed my choco-vanilla custard cone. Yesterday I refused pancakes and I was pretty proud of myself as I love pancakes. I know I still have a long way to go...it's a day by day struggle but so far I'm winning the war even though some days I may not win the battle. I stepped on the scale and no additional lbs. It even should a decrease which made me VERY happy. I can't beat myself up for every bad thing i do. That's what I used to do and it put me in a really dark lonely place. NOW I address what I have eaten and move on. I didn't go crazy and i still stayed within my cals. Next weekend I will do better. I do find I need to allow myself a treat here and there to keep me on my path and I honestly don't think there is anything wrong with that. Being out on the heat today, though, did remind me of how big I have gotten. But for once I didn't let it get me down. I went outside and wasn't afraid ( mostly) of what the world thought of me.

Everyone starts somewhere my dear. Your being aware of what you are eating, planning to do better the next time a curve comes your way like your weekends will really see you through. You are mindful of your calorie intake right now which is fantastic, just be honest with what you are journaling and you will start to see some positive changes come your way!!

I agree with above. Even if we do have a "bad" moment, we have to be accountable over it, and put a stop to, well I was already bad today, so I will start tomorrow. Before we know it a week of tomorrows as gone by. That can be one of my struggles. Your journal today sounds much more positive than previous entries, you sounds happier today. Just the impression I got when reading. :)

Definately is upfront and honest. At the end of the day, the only one we have to be accountable for on this journey is ourselves. Being able to look at it, analyze it, learn from it and move on without derailing behaviors is key. Great job on keeping "focus". ;) Like the new profile pic too!

I totally agree. I was honest about my bad food weekend and I'm moving on from it. I weighed myself this morning and I didn't gain anything from it so that is a plus. Next weekend I will try harder. This is a lifestyle change for me, not just a 'diet' so I'm going to have some bumps in the road.

Weekends can be tough...good for you for being mindful about your calories and what you're eating but NOT beating yourself up about it. And you need to have treats...this is NOT a diet, its a change in lifestyle and change takes time but I think you're on the right path. The honesty is great. And remember unless you go off the deep end and dig a whole...one or even two "bad" days won't effect the scale. its the weekly deficeit that counts. And screw what others think of you. You know who you are and you know what you've been through and that you're trying to change your life. Use your loved ones and support system as a shield. Hope you have a great & healthy week!
