CMR's Journal, 28 March 2011

I need a good week and for it to lasts for a full 7 days. Since I hit my first goal, I've been doing okay during the week, but then completely sabotaging my progress on the weekends. Part of it is stress. Part of it is that I have it in my head that I've reached my goal so I can reward myself. That's all well and good, but I'm "rewarding" myself with old habits. How in the Hell is that a reward?!?!?

We went out for sushi on Friday night and I ate way to much. So much that I didn't eat until Saturday evening. I also ate like crap on Saturday because I went out to watch the UConn game. Unfortunately, my wife got sick on Saturday and she's blaming the fish. No more sushi for a while. But because she didn't eat this weekend, she's won two straight weeks of our competition. I have to get on my horse if I want to win the month and it starts today...Have a great day FS buddies!!!

I'm totally in the same place as you ... I dropped 20lbs, began to feel cocky, began living a maintenance regime rather than a weight loss regime. I want this week to turn things around as well, so... let's do it!

I don't know anything about WW's, but isn't sushi rather high in sodium??? if so... up your water while you kick things back into gear! Good luck to ya!!!

Cool. I'm going with brussels sprout stir fry for lunch and vegetable miso soup for dinner - as a sort of virtuous Monday reboot. Although as mentioned over at my journal, I've got a bit of a cheese issue in the house to be reckoned with.

jsfatome-Yes I think it is high in sodium, but it's sooooo goooood!!! I used low sodium soy sauce but that is still pretty high. I just have to be more mindful of my choices on the weekend and it's not going to get any easier with summer coming. I did break out the grill for the first time last night. I think I'll use that more this year than last year.

Good Morning, Bren. I don't want to use water weight as an excuse. I made the choices, and a single pound lost over a 14day time frame is the consequence. Just gotta be more consistent. Have a great one!!

Flush out that sodium and you will be fine. You are right, you made the choice to have it, but yes it is oh so good and good for you really. I think you are more pissed that your wife is kicking your ass this month! Ha-Ha!! :)

Hey bro- its good that you are owning it and you know that you are sabotaging yourself. Paula is right the sodium is a killer plus if its stress PLUS sodium for guys... that can spike cortisol like crazy dude. SO just get back on track watch your choices and remember that this is 24/7 not 24/5 and be the rock star you've been in the past!

I absolutely LOVE the grill - probably 11 out of 12 months of the year! I won't grill in 10 degree weather or below...but I have been known to shovel out a foot of snow to get to the grill,... yum!
