RED LOBSTER.... It was Grandma's birthday yesterday, so we took her to Red Lobster for dinner. My thought process was "It's a place with seafood, so finding a healthy meal should be easy". What I failed to remember was this is the place with the yummy garlic cheddar rolls and where everything is covered with a garlic butter sauce. On top of having so many calorie filled options in front of me, I was also working on only 3 hours of sleep (I work till 4am in the morning and had to get up early for church, then drive 2 hours to visit grandma)so the option of gorging was the "easy" choice. But alas, I almost cried as I abstained from the rolls and ordered the Plain Salmon with Steamed Broccoli and Asparagus (not even giving into the rice pilaf). In the end, it was perfect...I had a healthy meal that filled me up and I didn't regret it 20 minutes later. It was a true test of my relationship between my body and food. On this Monday I am exhausted and already ready for a nap, it's only 9am :) My young daughter no longer allows naps to happen in our home, so I am going to keep pushing and hope that after my workout I regain some energy to make it through the evening. I hope everyone has a blessed week.
