So today started out frustrating. I have had an earache for like 3 weeks now.. and today I decided was enough. So I called my dr and they do not take our new ins. So I called the ins company got the info on where to find a new dr. HOLY crap what a cluster mess that was. The online list of drs.. give me a break.. 45% of the numbers I called were wrong. One number was to a high school drs office at a school that takes kids with problems.. so it only services the kids of the school. Then one number was cancer research, one number was for ped's cardiology, the list goes on.. what a waste of time.. I got through to two dr offices that were normal dr offices.. but one could not see me till next tuesday.. the other could not see me for 3 weeks. Because they wont see you for a dr's visit till they see you for a new pt visit.. and the first one they had was 3 weeks out. So I said eff that noise and went to urgent care.. It is an ear infection.. no surprise there. So if you have a choice.. dont choose Atena. :P Their website is terrible and poorly maintained and the customer service/help is a recording directing you to a website.. The real pisser is we did not have a choice.. my husbands company was bought out.. so now we have worse insurance that costs alot more money.

This is why I hate insurance! The prices always go up, and they cover less and less. Grrr... Hope your ear is feeling better. That is some serious pain!

I have Aetna! LOL i havent had any problems with them as of yet, but then again I've only been to my 'lady Dr' in the 4 years that i've had the insurance. If i ever need a Dr i go to a minute clinic at a CVS. They cost me $20 and are way quicker than any Dr's office i've ever been to. Hope your ear feels better :)
