The Big Apple -- all it's cracked up to be & more. I always forget how much I love the City. I'm not sure I'd want to live here, but visiting is the best, especially with these girlfriends. We get along so well, and have much in common... Except they are not the early morning risers that I am. So, I'm at the local Starbucks -- they are everywhere here & this one is just around the corner from our hotel. In addition to be enjoying the morning with you, the people watching is great! We're off to workout at 9:30 -- they are exercise enthusiasts like me. And ATF is great as the 2 pregnant young ones aren't drinking (I gave it up for lent) and my bestie gave up sweets so I have a fellow sugar freer too.
Last night the sushi was delicious! After the realization of the high glycemic-ness of rice, I stuck with sashimi, which I love anyway & steered clear of the sushi rolls they had. And Les Mis was absolutely spectacular! It was the first. Broadway show this sheltered Midwestern girl had seen years ago in London when we lived there, and had an impact on me like no other since. I saw it another time here on Broadway, and then the recent movie, and just love it in all its forms. Even though it's very sad at times, the depth & intensity of it and the beautiful music just awe me.
TGIF, my friends! It's a rainy day here, after a beauty yesterday, and what's forecast to be great weather for the weekend. We see Newsies tonight, and in between is to be determined. On a lighter note, for those who remember my rant about my DH's unannounced early arrival home from work one day last week -- I had emailed him to see if he wanted to come in meet us tomorrow. He replied that he might just surprise us.... But would not show up without the proper advance notice!... I said that'd be great and then I could truly be & show how happy that would make me:)... Progress, right?!?
So, now I'll pray for serenity. And I'll remind myself that through this one City day, and each one meal, moment, bite, thought & emotion, I can pray, breathe, journal, log, and express my way. I'm so grateful for each of you my wonderful buddies, my family & IRL friends, hot coffee and Starbucks all over NYC, and having the health & wealth to live this life I love including this awesome weekend with my special friends in this special place... Did I tell you I love NYC! Xoxox
