I experienced weight gain immediately when my doctor put me on atorvastatin on March 1. I was also tired all the time. This was due to what doctors thought might be a stroke or TIA. After undergoing CAT,MRI, extra cranial ultrasound, heart ultrasound and finally a neurology exam, and having all systems in fine shape, it was determined by my sister and I that I had a transglobal amnesia episode on Feb. 26th. Hence the Lipitor since the doctors had very limited knowledge of a TGA and proceeded as if it were a stroke. It was my decision to quit taking the Lipitor and 325mg aspirin every day for two weeks prior to seeing the neurologist after reading all I could find online about TGA's. The most informational was Wikipedia on this subject and explained exactly what I had experienced after finishing my Slow Weights session. I have done Slow Weights for the past 7 years with no problems and intend to continue. I lost 3 hours of memory on the 26th of Feb., was able to "safely" drive 32 miles home where my significant other knew there was a problem and took me to the ER. I stayed in the hospital ICU for 3 days and underwent these tests I mentioned. The neurologist also confirmed it was definitely TGA. All is good now!!I have continued my other exercises, walking, kayaking, swimming and life is fine.
