jsfantome's Journal, 02 January 2011

I have noticed that I hold back a lot of info...as I don't want to seem insensitive to people just starting out, or those working their way through the weightloss process...but some days you just gotta WHOOP it up a bit!!! Just to make yourself feel good!

It's been a long year of changes, and victories, and a few defeats...then some more victories! Went clothes shopping yesterday, and every pair of pants I tried on were a size 6! (I had to pinch myself! Seriously!!) What a long ways from the crying jag I had on New Year's Day 2009, when I was 205 lbs...and 16's were too tight!

WOW!!! It was WORTH IT! And I am WORTH IT! It's taken me a long time to believe that...but I do now!

Funny thing is...I could buy whatever I wanted (within reason) regarding clothing...but it's actually very hard to find things that fit now. The amount of clothes in smaller sizes is very picked over...and very limited! (not saying you shouldn't keep losing...) but I was rather surprised that (for example) the store I was in had 3 dresses in a size 4, and 3 dresses in a size 6...and something like 23 dresses in a 10, 12 or 14...

Guess that means I am in the minority! :))) I'll take it! What a problem to have, huh?

Perhaps I will return to sewing again in my life! Could be fun!!

Well, hope you all have a great day! Love.

Thanks Bren! Today I am going to spend the afternoon w/ my 16 yr old son! (he has to go back to school tomorrow...and has been sooooo busy over vacation, we have hardly seen each other!) Ever feel like you miss somebody who is right in front of you? He's growing up sooo fast! Perhaps some driving practice today !!! AAAAGGGGHHHHH!

Yeah, sometimes I miss my hubby cause he is on the computer. I can't talk to him or he loses his place. Ha Ha. Can only do one thing at a time. Bless his heart.

Can I ask a personal question? You've obviously lost a significant amount of weight, what does your body look like now, skin wise? I am finding that my skin is not retracting like I had hoped and still have a ways to go yet, so wondered if you would share what your experience has been like. I think you mentioned in one of my journals when I talked about that, that there were undergarments that helped and I will certainly look into that, that's my goal next week, but wondered in general does it get better, much better, or just somewhat better. I hate to think I will have skin hanging down my thighs - yuk

Thanks Stef! And Is - I can only say...it's gotten WAY better because of exercise, but not great or perfect or anything. Had a C-Section 23 yrs ago...and well, my tummy is loose and wrinkly...but my legs, arms, etc...are all smooth and toned because I have done light resistance work all year.

Paula, I know exactly how you feel, although it wasn't a size 6 for me and I have a ways to go to get near my own "normal" size. Still, it had to feel amazing for you. Enjoy the feeling and go HONK your horn some more; you deserve it!!!

Girl, you ARE the light at the end of the tunnel! Let it shine so everyone else, no matter what stage, can envision going somewhere wonderful :) I've noticed the 10s are very plentiful. And I've been eyeing up the 8s, but I don't think I'll every have to deal with your 6 issue! Sounds like a fun issue to have though :)

You are so right Paula. You do need to Whoop it up a bit every now and then. With all your success, you deserve to.:) I felt the same way about making my own clothes. Only difference was, that was when I was at my heaviest. I couldn't find anything that really appealed to me and I was imbarrassed at how big my clothes were then. You sure have come a long way and now you are a size 6. That is temendous.:):) Live it up hon, because you sure do deserve it.:) Enjoy the rest of your evening.
