Hilarious jog today in torrential rain. Not just because I was soaked to the skin with a curtain of rain pouring off the peak of my cap, but also because of people's reactions. Everyone else was bundled up in thick coats, hunched against the cold, cowering under umbrellas. As I trotted merrily past, their faces said they thought I'd completely lost my mind! "To feed the remainder of life with one hour of fulness and freedom! / With one brief hour of madness and joy." (Walt Whitman, 'One Hour to Madness and Joy', Leaves of Grass).
