*Starshine*'s Journal, 01 October 2013

Bought a new winter coat today -- very fitted, with a band that emphasizes the waist, in a UK size 14. When I was trying it on, another shopper commented how "neat and trim" I was! Me! I'm still having to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming that I've gone from a size 24 to a 14. Still got a fair bit to lose yet but, having been big for so many years, I wonder if it'll ever feel "normal" to be a so-called "normal" weight again...

Good For You! From a 24 to a 14 - major change and will take time in all areas of your life - clothes, thoughts, and the image you hold of yourself in your head.

Nice! I can't wait to see 14's. Hopefully by around Christmas or New year's I can fit into at least something that size. I just ordered a dress for my company holiday party. The theme is Great Gatsby/20's Casino night, so I found a beautiful plum colored almost flapper-like dress on sale at Nordstrom.com. The one left on clearance was a size 16. I decided to bite the bullet and order it, hoping it will fit. If not, I can return it no problem. I'm kind of hoping it will be too big come Dec. 12 and I'll have to get a new dress. :)

Good luck with the dress, Kristy. It sounds gorgeous. You're so very nearly there, I'm sure you'll do it. Think of yourself in it when you're working out. It's a great motivator, when you're flagging. Or even thinking of other dresses you've seen that would be too small just now. December's 3 whole months away after all; you can drop A LOT in that time! I did that for a friend's wedding in July. A beautiful cornflower-blue floaty number with a VERY fitted bodice, which I must have tried on at least fifty times in the 6 weeks run-up to it. And, even tho' I say it myself, I totally rocked it on the night! I'm still deliberately buying on the "snug" side now, as further incentives to lose. Like you say though, Bella, the image in my head hasn't quite changed yet. I need to start a list, like you did, of all the little changes. I hope it's not TMI but I noticed tonight, for example, that the horrid little pouch of fat I'd developed on my coccyx has completely vanished! I didn't even notice it going, but it's gone, gone, gone :-)
