Saved by FITNESS! :)

Goodmorning, my friends!

Wow, yesterday was very frustrating, but don't worry - everything turned out well in the end...

As many of you know, I like to start my day with a nice walk. I walk 5 kilometers every days, and have done this for a few months now.

It helps me get ready for the day, it helps me get some exercise done, and it's just a great way to start the day.

I even did it in Paris, and other places when I have been away from home. I even did it Wednesday morning after the KISS concert, after just a few hours of sleep. :)

But yesterday, the rain was hammering down. I had a class to go to right after, and I would have been wet and cold had I gone. Obviously, this wasn't an option.

Now, I could have lived with that if I had just gone to work, so I could have moved around a little extra there. I like standing up at my desk at work, as I get to do some extra steps and generally move around.

However, the only thing I was gonna be doing all day was to sit and listen - AND be frustrated that the food was gonna be high calorie on a Low Cal Day for me. At least, I would have loved for it to be a Low Cal Day. My body was begging me for one.

So, all I could do was to go with it and see what happened.

Of course, I did NOT get to do my walk. I did sit all day. I did see my exercise goals fly out the window. There was no chance that I could make it to a decent goal, I figured.

Lunch was the usual mess of things. It was really hard to find anything that wasn't mixed with mayo and other gross junk. They pride themselves with doing really high quality foods, and that might be, but as long as it's drenched in unnecessary calories, I'm not having it. Yuck.

I managed to find a little bit of a "salad" - cous-cous, brocoli and red onions - and some chicken breast. It wasn't all bad, but not filling at all. Still, I went with it, and spent 145 calories on it.

It took me about 30 minutes to get hungry again. Booo.

Fortunately, I did bring protein bars, just in case. I had one. 325 calories. BAM: Low Cal Day slowly collapsing.

Anyways, I ended up having spent a total of 900 calories through the day. I'm still very satisfied with it. Sure, I didn't make it to 600, but it's okay. I feel a lot better today, and I feel that my body did get the food-break it needed and was asking for.

...

I was still convinced that my exercise goals were shot down. I was working at the gym last night, and it's usually busy, so all I get to do it stand and talk, directing, etc.

However, it turned out to be a surprisingly quiet evening. I took the opportunity to do a few rounds, so I actually got a full workout it! Saved by FITNESS indeed! :)

After doing this, and still seeing that it was all nice and quiet, I vacuumed the entire place, thus getting a lot more steps in.

All in all, my exercise level was surprisingly good considering the bad start, and I reached all my goals for the day, and then some!

...

Today will be different. It's still cold and grey outside, but I can get my walk done. I'm heading out to do so in a few, as soon as I finish writing. I honestly missed it yesterday, and I'm looking forward to a walk in the nice, fresh air. :)

...

And the weight? Well, two of the gained kilos are gone since yesterday! Not bad at all. It just shows that it IS just food processing, and nothing to worry about. Give it another week and I am back where I'm supposed to be.

I have some extra food challenges coming up tomorrow, but more on that later. I probably will end up having more or less of and Indulgence Day, which is cool because it's Saturday tomorrow, but not-so-cool because it'll be my 3rd or 4th Indulgence Day this week. :/

...

So, before I leave, a lot of you are commenting on my vaction time, and I wanted to let you know just a little bit more about it. It DOES seem like we're on vacation constantly. It's awesome!

Basically, in Denmark we get 6 weeks of vacation per year. Everyone does. It doesn't matter how long you have worked for your company, as the vacation money is put on a government account for you. This ensures that you will have the money available when you need it, with no regards of where you work. You will always be guaranteed vacation time.

On top of this, we can save up overtime/comp time, and I use a lot of this time to take a day or two off.

So all in all, we get to take days off ALL the time. I love it!

...

Today, I'm thankful for:
- Losing TWO KILOS since yesterday.
- More to come!
- My walk! My treasured walk! Coming up in a few.
- The day off with Wife!
- Wife!

Life is good!

6 weeks of vacation is insane!!! It seems like Denmark has a lot of holidays too. I think I need to relocate lol! Thanks for sharing that though as I was definitely curious. Nice job making a good result from the end of the day. Every bit counts!

So jealous of six weeks vacation. I get 4 weeks now and have had to work FOREVER to get those! I know you are enjoying them.

I love fitness. It saves me all the time. What device are you using to track your steps, sleep ect? I think I might move to denmark. 6 weeks of guaranteed vacation is very tempting.

coachcj8, I'm using a Fitbit flex to track my activities. I've had it for a week's time now, and I am SUPER happy with it. It gives me a good idea of what I am doing, and motivates me to do MORE. I like!
