Another successful day on my eating plan. Today is pizza day at work. Instead of deceiving myself into believing that I am a better man than to allow myself to succumb to the temptation of a delectable deluxe fat-ridden, mountain of Italian cuisine, I will just avoid the cafeteria today. Even though I have been doing great with both exercise and diet, I am hovering 1 pound below this week's goal. I think I'm going to make it, but I'm not going to alter my plan or starve just to make this Friday's goal; that would only make it harder to meet next week's target, and the frustration would only escalate.
Mowed the south yard last night, attended to the birdies, planted some flowers for DW (for some reason she wasn't motivated to go outside), worked out on the treadmill, and did 15 good ole military deep dive pushups. Those things you put at the top of the doorway for pullups make excellent pushup mechanisms as well; they allow you to extend lower than you normally would just putting your hands flat on the floor. I can really feel the stretch in my lower back.
Funny, DW didn't want any company last night either. I guess it's the depression thing going on. As it just happened, two people came over at different times to visit with her yesterday, and as I went to the door, DW said she didn't want any company - to tell them she was too tired. So, being the obedient male servant that I am, I let them in. Within an hour or so, she was out of her depression and enjoying her company - one, her 14 year old cousin (cute as a button) and the other an elderly female neighbor which she really likes. I had things to do.
