Good Morning, FS Warriors! Had a fairly uneventful day yesterday. Stayed busy at work with crisis interventions and meetings. DD's boyfriend had dropped some morel mushrooms off with DW, so we had fried mushrooms and french fries last night. I know. I know. Not the healthiest cuisine for someone trying to follow an eating plan, but these things only happen once a year. People in Chicago pay as much as $80.00 a pound for these things; kind of on par with truffles in G.B. They were scrumptious, but I didn't eat too many. I'm sure I still stayed well below my RDI.

I can't believe this, but this place has them for $326.00 a pound.
$326.00 a Pound!?

Worked out for 20 minutes with Jillian. I think the workout topped out at a 7% incline on the treadmill; she went pretty easy on me. I find that sometimes, even though the pace is fairly slow (~3.5 mph) I have to sort of jog to keep from slipping back on the treadmill, especially when it get up to 11 or 12% incline.

My bird feeding has escalated to 3 feeders and 3 suet cages, which I fill every evening. They are gluttons! However, we have seen species of birds that we have never even seen here before, like Red Headed Woodpeckers (granddaughter called them "Peckerwoods"), Rose Breasted Grosbeaks, lots of Cardinals, Red-winged and other Blackbirds, and of course European Starlings and Sparrows. I can't believe that when I put the first feeder up, I was afraid after a day or two that we weren't going to get any birds. The bird feeders were some of the best gifts I have ever given DW; I think she gets more enjoyment out of them than she does out of her rings.

Anyway, that's about the scope of what's happening in my world thus far this week. Have a fabulous day. Toodles!

Cool mushrooms, I just looked them up! I have never seen them. You and Jillian are getting a wee bit close these days, haha. Good workout! BIRDS! Ohh, you can HAVE those dang woodpeckers, I'll send them your way! I love watching bird feeders, as long as you can keep the squirrels away! Little buggers! I'm headed to Springfield IL on the 23rd of May for my aunts 80th birthday. Probably be passing by your place sort of:-) I'll wave!

Well, Lizzy, I'll still be about 1 1/2 hours north of you. We're getting 88 degrees F today. Gonna feel like I'm in Georgia. Haha! We have trouble getting squirrels to stick around here; I think too many dogs - fenced in, but make plenty of noise. I don't know if you're much of a history buff, but there is a brand new Lincoln Museum in Springfield that is supposed to make for a fantastic visit.

Oh I forgot, after going to Springfield, I am driving the next day to Winnetka to help mom for a week or so:-) I might plan on staying a little extra time to see the museum. Thanks for the tip! Forgot also, the woodpeckers were LIVING in my house when I moved in. Cedar! Then they kept coming back to peck peck peck peck more holes! I think they are semi gone after 4 years:-)

I love bird feeders... They attract such pretty birds :-). The other advantage is, they eat the pests in the garden.

Wow, Lizzy! You are going to be doing some traveling. Winnetka is pretty close to Glenview where I went through my Navy Indoctrination about 38 years ago. My, how time flies! Sk1nny, I hope they love mosquitoes. It cost me over $1,000.00 to treat my lab for heartworms, which the vet says is carried by mosquitos. I've still got bats in the gym; they do a pretty good job of eating bugs too. It's just kind of creepy when the lights are dim in the gym and I see their shadows darting around.

Bird feeders are fun! Rings are security! Good job on working out with Jillian, I have not tried DVD's yet but when I put 3.5 in to walk on treadmill that is almost a jog for me too.

Yeah, Susan; she can melt them down and buy that yacht she's always wanted. :) She doesn't need weights to work her arms; she just raises her hands. Every time she shoots me the bird I ask if that's a new weight lifting exercise. JK. She does wear rings like a gypsy though - 3, sometimes 4 on each finger. Haha, she even got into toe rings, and I said, "I draw the line there; you buy those yourself."
