Good morning!

I slept really bad last night. Well, actually I didn't sleep at all. At least, that's how it feels.

I'm not tired though - I think it's simply a reaction from the several Low Cal Days in a row. I experienced this last time I went on an equally mad mission.

When we have virtually no calories for days, then at some point the "inner caveman" starts to freak out. "Keld", he says", "you're not eating. You need to go get some food. Go hunt! Go find berries! Here's a butt-load of energy to get you moving!"

So, your body simply gives you a TON of energy, to give you a better chance to find some food, and find it NOW.

Of course, the inner caveman - mabye I should name him CaveKeld - doesn't know that I'm doing this on purpose and that I am going to Paris on Friday and will treat him to all the baguettes and bries in the world. He just wants to look out for me.

So I get no sleep. Boo.

I had a BUSY day yesterday. The cases that I was working on were tough. Tough interviews and lots of (relatively polite) arguing. Those cases are no fun. I hate doing those. They're done though, and things went well.

In the middle of it all, I had to leave work to get my contact lenses adjusted and set up a little better. My vision hasn't been all too good after I got the lenses, so we had to tweak things a little bit.

We got that done, and I see a LOT better now. Again, don't wanna go see Paris all blurry, do I? :)

Then of course there was the class. They're such an amazing group of people. So much fun, and so positive. I love working with them.

They were all giddy and excited, when I told them that there are 4 new people coming in, and that we're expanding to two classes. Things are great.

Too bad they didn't lose as much weight as expected, but then again, it's been a four day weekend, and there were parties for pretty much everyone. Everyone knew what they had done wrong, and those who didn't do wrong lost up to 4 lbs the last week or so. Not too bad. We're on track just fine.

After class I stayed behind at the gym to give one of the people from the class the introduction to the gym and he got signed up and is now good to go. Really cool!


On MY weight front there are difinitely perks from doing Low Cal Days. I reached a new low again today - I am at 80.7 kilos. Now a massive new low, but a new low. 100 grams under yesterday.

I didn't really expect it after yesterday's three kilo drop, but on the other hand I'm not surprised. I had to go pee constantly yesterday (or so it felt) and I generally just felt lighter.

But what's more interesting is that my fat percentage dropped from 7.8% yesterday to 5.6% today.

I'm sure there IS a fat loss in there - going two days with Low Cal will prompt that, obviously, but it won't be all that much. Still, the numbers indicate that there will be a larger weigh drop coming.

Mind you, all these numbers at this point - just before vacation - don't really matter. I'm dropping my weight and my calories to make wiggle room for a worry free vacation, and I know I'm gonna gain a good chunk of it back over the latter part of the week. So anything I'm dropping low is probably now gonna stay. Still, I like seeing it because it's gonna help me stay at the weight I am at, and where I'd like to be.


I shifted around my breakfast a little today. I didn't feel like my vegetable soup. So instead, to make sure to go really low on the calories still, I decided to get a can of chopped tomatoes from the pantry, and simply spice it up with half a jalapeño, some tikki masala spice, a bit of licorice powder spice, pepper and a grill chili mix. Maybe a slightly weird combination, but boy it was good. It was surprisingly nice. Something I would definitely do again.


So, what's in store for today? NOthing much, really. There is no gym today, but I will go for my walk. The forecast says rain and thunder though, so I won't go to the beach. I will stay close to home, but do circles around the block to make sure I do my five kilometers. I don't wanna be without that!

I have zero interviews at work. This is great, because I have some other things that I need to work on. I have some cases that I gotta get better footing on, as I can tell that I feel that I'm stressing over them. So that's what I'll spend the day on.

Tonight - no plans. I'm just gonna lay low, and will probably go to bed early. I am sure I'll be exhausted tonight, because of my lack of sleep last night.


Today, I am thankful for:
- Feeling very energized even if I didn't sleep much!
- Doing great and being very postivite doing a week of Low Cal Days.
- Fat Percentage of 5.6! Wow!
- A slight new low!
- Morning coffee!

Hi Kingkeld, thanks for adding me up. Really love reading your journal, I am quite inspired. It is good to know other people with similar struggles. Have a good holiday and kudos on keeping the weight down!

Oh and just a suggestion... Have you tried warm milk before bed? It could help you sleep... It surely gives me the yawns!

Generally, I sleep pretty well these days. I think last night's "unrest" was entirely related to my low calories. I've seen it before, and it seems to be happening when I do this. :) Thanks, though. :)

HA, Inner caveman! So true! never thought of it that way! Welcome to my no sleep club! I always get over hungry when sleep sucks, but I am aware so I push through it. YIPPIE on the classes. That is so motivating. Have a relaxing evening!
