Made homemade pork rinds tonight.
Since we use them for breading as well as an occasional snack, hubby found pork pellets to make them at home.

In case anyone doesn't know about these:
The pellets are actually small pieces of pork skins.
They are usually cooked by deep frying..but... the air fryer is PERFECT for this project! A lot of folks also cook them in the microwave.
Anyway, by cooking these at home, you can season them exactly how you want AND buying these in bulk, pellet form, they are far more economical. They are less fatty when using the air fryer or microwave b/c you don't need oil.

Tonight we seasoned some with "Slap Ya Mama" Cajun seasoning and some with Garlic/Parmesan.

They were SO much better than commercial rinds you find in the store.

It will be fun finding new spices for these!

I wonder if you can get pellets from a hog farmer? A hog farmer who also does butchering on their property. IDK. Maybe a way to get them a little cheaper.

Terrapin, I bet ya can! I wonder what farmers do with the skin? Worth looking into for sure.
