friendly555's Journal, 31 August 2010

So I took off work early today, and I decided to get a movie to watch with the kids tonight. I let them each pick out a candy and I was looking for one for myself also. I saw someone of FS refer to calories as money, and would make a decision on a food based on if the item was worth spending their "money" on. That has really stuck with me. As I was looking at the candies in the store I was thinking "wow these are expensive" and I wasn't talking about the price. I passed on the candy, and carrots aren't sounding bad at all right now! I am so proud of myself, now I feel like I have accomplished something!

That is awesome. I also think of my calories as money or "spending" them.. new habits are hard to form.. I dont do it perfectly but I am trying to be mindful of what I eat.. anyway awesome job passing on the candy for your movie.. I like the 100 calorie popcorn bags.. they are really great. Some times I do get a box of jr mints and portion one one serving and sprinkle them over the popcorn. It still gives me the treat and it lasts way longer with way less calories. :)
