Happy Friday!

Spoke to my health counselor last night, and while nothing really new was discussed, it was nice to be reminded that I've got accountability to someone outside of myself for my eating habits. I actually felt rather proud to report to her that I'd been keeping up with what I'd said I was going to do (with there being only one really off day). She also reminded me that there's nothing wrong with minor indulgences in moderation.

I told her about how this site has options to record daily activities like driving & desk work, which we both kind of chuckled at. Admittedly, you burn calories just by existing. Up to this point I've been recording my time at work as "sitting" and my commuting time....instead, I think I'm going to record half the commute (approx 25 mins one way), and only an hour of "sitting" time, just to get the difference in exercise vs intake to show up. If anything it'll be closer to the actual count.

Boyfriend has been a bit distant this week between work, single-player per console games & car stuff, but he did make moves through the week to show that I wasn't forgotten, and that he was conserving a bit of energy for me at the end of each day. Took me out tonight to Longhorn Steakhouse and we had a really nice time....it's been a while since we've gone out to dinner somewhere nice (Read: Somewhere where tipping is necessary). He noticed trout on the menu, so we'll be hitting the grocery store tomorrow to look into doing trout for dinner.

....there are times where I get so down. I see people I went to school with buying houses, making wedding/vacation plans and being fairly successful in the field that they have a degree in.....I have a degree, but it doesn't get me anywhere, no money for a wedding/vacation, and while I'm not interested in buying a house just yet (not sure if this is my final location), I would like to rent a house over the apartment we're currently in. I still have days where I wake up feeling miserable, wanting to break down for no apparent reason...

Yet, despite all that, I feel like in the last 8 - 10 months, the good days have far outnumbered the bad. 30 to 1, if I had to put it into numbers. There are so many times where I'll be watching the sunset on my drive home, listening to good music and looking forward to coming home to my best friend and our cat. While I'm not a hugely religious person, I find myself thankful for family that loves me and the ability to make ends meet.
