I am using a low carb clean diet with MCT and Olive as my primary fat sources. I eat a variety of fresh vegetables every day. On average 3-4 cups of chopped veggies with Romaine lettuce. I stick to the meat basics like Chicken, Fish, Pork, and Beef. I only eat grass-fed organic beef and the chicken is organically fed and range free. I don't eat much pork the occasional Tenderloin and a little bacon about 1-2 times a week. And that's because I love bacon! The Pork is also Nitrate Free. Also, I always stay within the good nutrition guidelines of 3-4 ounces of meat per serving and generally shoot for 50-60 grams of protein per day. I learned from the Lapband that 50 grams of protein safely meet your body's needs. I use Chia seed for fiber and protein, Decaf Green Tea
(3 Bags), Raw Cocoa (2 T), Flax (1T), Stevia (to Taste), MCT oil (1 T) and an Avocado for a vat of 64 ounces of a Nutritional Smoothie that lasts all-day. It's actually very tasty and provides the hydration I need. I don't think it matters what diet you're following as long as you eat clean. Eating a Twinkie is not something any human should ever eat. There is nothing nutritionally sound in a Twinkie and really they don't taste good enough to destroy your health over. So Choices need to be made and that's where the term Lifestyle Change has to come in to play in my world. We as free-thinking adults need to be able to say NO to our childish, destructive, indulgent ways, we are our own worst enemies and our poor food choices really say a lot about us and how we manage our lives and health. If you were to look at my weight loss journey you can see that I have had many ups and downs, this experience for the past 50 years has taught me a few things. I alone am responsible for my health and well-being. Not my Husband, Children, Family or my Doctor. Me!! The words you are only hurting yourself finally settled in and I realized that (I) had to make the changes. I could no longer stand on my excuses like I am too stressed out, I don't have the will-power, It's not going to kill me! The fact is my old habits would have destroyed my health and all the excuses would have tricked me out of a healthful sound life. We have to take a stand and make a decision to be healthy and strong both physically and mentally. It's on Us!!
