Mmm that Double Rich Chocolate Protein Powder I ordered tastes wonderful with just water. I can't wait to try it in yogurt or almond milk. Oh, or maybe in some oatmeal, or mixed with nut butter... I have so many delicious options! Thanks iamachristianjesusfreak for recommending increasing my protein intake!:D

This weekend it is off to the future-mother-in-law's house for her birthday. Hopefully I'll be able to stay on track, but I know she'll want to go out to eat for almost every meal. I can never seem to stay on track when eating out, because the restaurants she likes to go to never list their calorie count and I end up having to guess...

Oh well, it's only one weekend, what can you do? :)

I ask for a nutritional paper. Last time I want to applebees I asked and they had one in the back. I think they are supposed to keep them on hand for people who are on restricted diets. Like my dad is supposed to be on a heart healthy diet. Also try to make sure when you drink your shake it is after your workout. Helps your body repair faster and better. The protein in it absorbs quicker then like if i ate some turkey or chicken. I am glad you really enjoyed it though. It should keep you from wanting to binge on any sweets too. Or at least it does me.

Protein shakes are terrific. I just have plain powder 9choc) and water at the gym, but when I get in after a long run - I go mad and blend all kinds of great stuff up including some flaxseed as that's good for inflammation. I usually spend the last 3 or 4 miles fantasising about what I'm going to blend when I get home.

I know Psylina I wait in anticipation for mine everyday. It's like my reward for working out! My chocolate is about a week or so from being out and I am so investing in double chocolate!

iamachristianjesusfreak, I'll have to remember to ask about the nutritional paper, I didn't even know those things existed. And thanks for the tip about drinking the shake after a workout. That's what I normally do, but it's nice to know there is a reason behind it. :) psylina, do you use ground flaxseed? If you do, how well does it blend into the shake?

I buy whole flaxseed and stick it in my blender with all the other bits and bobs. It is dirt cheap when you buy it whole and (apparently) lasts longer than stuff already ground. It blends in pretty well, just have to leave it on for a little longer than perhaps you would normally. i like the noise at the start when you can hear it all bashing around as well! Whether it makes any difference or not, I really couldn't say, but its full of omega 3s. I did a long run yesterday during which some muscles in the backs of my thighs ached, but they are fine this morning; of course, may not be related; just anecdotal!
