This update is important to me...
I just returned home from a doctors visit. The doctor is aware of me tracking my food intake and exercise and encourages me each visit. I'm glad he does too because some friends and family have let me know that they think I'm too obsessed with the two. Well today he cut my diabetes medication in half. He cut one pill I was taking about six months after I started lifting again which was about a year and a half ago. Today he reduced the two pills I have been taking to one a day. No Keto or fasting, I just practiced CICO and lifting. I skipped breakfast this morning because of blood work but tonight I'm hitting my favorite Asian buffet!!!

Congrats and well done! Just smile when others think you’re obsessed. Your health is improving which is wonderful.

GOOD JOB, @John10251! I'm so glad that your hard effort has paid off in such a great NSV, and that the CICO and lifting have worked so well for you! Keep up the great work - who knows, maybe you'll be able to get off those other pills completely, too!

Congratulations! And well, people around me also think that I am a little obsessed, I just don't listen to them. 😁

I just started referring to it as my hobby and people started to back off, especially when I started comparing it to THEIR hobbies (playing video games, watching video games, etc.)

Awesome, John! congrats. Yes no keto necessary. People correlate things to certain diets but in truth those diets just helped them reduce their calories and in turn their weight which was the reason they improved their health.

Way to go! Don't worry about what the friends and family think. They may come from a place of concern for you, but they don't know what you do about your lifestyle and what works for you. Your results say it all. You earned that buffet visit!

Friends and family can be huge sources of support and inspiration, but they can also be your biggest critics and naysayers, I don't have the time or inclination to defend my choices, if they can't be supportive I just tell them to stick it.

And yes, family can feign concern saying things like you're obsessed, but maybe it's jealousy.
