Another small loss this morning, and I will take it. One thing I love about a digital scale...I can see even the ounces and it helps to keep me motivated.

DH has left and is in route. Mrs. H mentioned jaw clenching and I immediately noticed mine was tight and had to make a conscious effort to relax it.

I think I may relax some tonight.

One thing I can say is that I have caught myself opening a cabinet or the fridge looking and then catch myself....knowing that I am not hungry....that it is not time for a meal......or that I recently ate and am not hungry and the knowledge that it is me and the habit of emotional eating. So I go fill up a 16 oz glass of water and down that sucker! Or make myself another cup of coffee (usually I only have one but then the second comes into play).

So I am working at not letting these old habits take over and putting myself off until it is actually 'time to eat'.

I hope everyone has a great day and thank you for the support.

Good luck on DH's interview! Hope it goes well, & although life changes can be stressful, good for you for handling it without eating -- what a great accomplishment!

Thank you Ruth - it really is 'big' for me to recognize this and continue to avoid the emotional eating that I would typically tend to do.

I hope you guys get what you are looking for with the job offer! I find myself looking through cabinets and the fridge too. Its crazy that I will finish a big, satisfying meal and still want to eat. At least you are catching yourself and readjusting. Thats how we make progress to a better us! I love the digital sclae for the same reason! Hope your next few days are more relaxing.

Jaime sounds like you have alot of other stress factors to deal with besides the dieting :( When life grabs a hold of you like that - just take a deep breath! know it's easier said than done - hell I can never stop stressing or take a deep breath! ;) I hope your husband gets the job and everything he is expecting! Good luck! It appears that you are doing a great job at controlling those hunger cravings/symptoms! Kudos to you.. I know that when I'm under alot of stress - I tend to be an emotional eater, so maybe this is what's triggering it for you.. I have the digital scale as well - Mine just gives me pounds and ounces, I don't have the big daddy that gives you BMI, fat% etc etc.. I hope the remainder of your day goes well! :)

Good luck on DH's interview! I hope you both get everything you are looking for in this job. You are doing an awesome job of catching yourself before you've already taken a bite of unneeded food. I catch myself prowling through cabinets and the fridge too. CONGRATS on the loss. Just keep remembering that all those ounces add up to pounds. Hoping the stress backs off soon.

Changing all those old eating habits is hard work. We get so used to just eating out of habit, boredom, and emotions. Thankfully, it does get easier, and you're doing a great job, Jamie! Love that you're seeing losses, even though they might be small, they do all add up, and before you know it, you're down 5-10 pounds! And, don't forget about the inches you're losing! I hope everything goes well with your husbands interview, and that some of the stress is decreased.
