Day 2 of a planned 5 days of ‘no solid food’ fasting
Blood sugar 95 mg/dL

So I started putting a scoop of Optifiber in practically everything. This stuff is great, no taste and dissolves completely in any non-carbonated liquid.

Man am I full! Here’s the thing, yesterday I only drank water and tea. Taking fiber while ‘water fasting’ may not be the best idea… unless you want to feel totally full 😊

However, last night I had to drink a protein shake to get to sleep. When I water fast it is *very hard to sleep* (because of increased Human Growth Hormone production https://idmprogram.com/fasting-and-growth-hormone-physiology-part-3/). I took a lot of melatonin to help me get to sleep, and I would have ‘roughed it out’, but, we got some late night phone calls and I could-not-sleep-at-all. I drank a protein shake and then I was able to sleep.

I won’t ‘water fast’ today (I miss giving myself a ‘treat’ throughout the day of a ‘protein drink’), but I will 🏃🏾‍♂️ run. I was able to run yesterday and I plan to run most days during this week. I want to get back down to 164lbs (my BMI weight).

We go on vacation in a few weeks. Before then I *may* get the motivation to do a 5 day ‘water fast’. The reason would be to give myself ‘room to work with’ while I am on vacation… because I plan to ✨Let Lose✨ for 7 days 😊

😎 Life is Good! Have a great day everyone!

You did great! my 24+ hours fasting failed, I decided to do a kind of OMAD week instead. I have been sleeping great for the past two weeks, and I don't want to mess up with my bedtime routine.

@Keilin_4 - I don't think you 'failed', you just 'altered your plan' 😎 I felt good while I was on the fast, but, it took mental effort to 'concentrate' on 'maintaining the fast'. I will try to fast at least one day each week.

I think my body is actually used to it, I also fasted on Sunday until 2 or 3 PM, I got up got ready for church, went Walmart after church and then went to the birthday party and broke my dry fast there, it was easy breezy, it's a little harder when I am at home all day long, I don't feel discomfort or hunger, everything is mentally haha

Oh ya, you let lose on vacations . I read an article the other day that eating at night is not so bad . I think it all depends on what how and how much we eat . I find that I need to eat later in the day something so I can sleep . I leave a small stack for night the last few weeks and it helps a lot . I might try to add some fiber . I added coconut OMG it's going through me LOL. you're doing great, good luck on the fast as well.

Jenjaba it's bad to eat at night if we ate already all our calories from the day 😁

@jenjabba, @Keilin_4 - Yeah if I *only* ate at night it probably would not be a problem. Last night was the first time I ever actually only ate late at night Haha!

it comes down to eat something at night so you can sleep or don't sleep. I say eat something. eating at not isn't bad. eating a big meal late is different.
